"Rasonque will cost $39,800 for a month’s supply of pills, before customary insurance discounts and rebates, the company said."
$39,800 * 12 = $477,600 per year...
Before rebates and discounts, which may bring the price down for some insurers. Note that is not an out-of-pocket cost -- patients will not pay that.

Fewer than 5% of cancer patients receiving treatment have the opportunity to participate in a clinical trial due to restrictions on who is eligible to participate. Today FDA is issuing guidance to broaden the criteria for participation.

Please read this story of a dad trying to develop a drug to save his child.@Jasonmmast and I think it is one of our best.
As we were working on it, we kept coming back to the same question: If this guy can't develop a drug for a rare disease, who can?
Matt Wilsey did not sit in the lab. He did not inject the rats or slice open their brains. But he had hired the scientists who did. He recruited advisers, including Nobel Prize winners, brought together the families of other children diagnosed with the condition, and pulled together an A-team of investors and donors. Through it all, he was sustained by his devout Catholic faith.
“We carry the hopes of many,” he wrote to his staff once. “I receive emails, calls, and texts from professionals and other advocates. They are blown away by what we have accomplished and hope we are an ice breaker for them. Our trial has the potential to really boost / save a decimated field.”
Now it may run aground.

MIRINAE trial of adjuvant cape+/- atezo in triple-negative RD after neoadjuvant chemo. No significant benefit with the addition of atezo, confirming that giving IO prior to surgery is key. Interesting signal in PDL1+ pts. Important note: cape dose was different in the two arms.

🌋 One Year of Kīlauea’s Episodic Summit Eruption 🌋
Today marks one year since a unique episodic eruption began at Kīlauea’s summit on December 23, 2024—a style of activity not seen in nearly 40 years! Over the past 12 months, Halemaʻumaʻu crater has hosted 38 eruptive episodes, each lasting from a few hours to nearly two days, separated by quiet pauses.
These episodes have produced spectacular lava fountains soaring up to 1,500 feet (460 m), reshaping the summit landscape:
✅ A new 140-foot (42 m) puʻu (cone) now adorns the northwest rim
✅ The caldera floor has risen by over 220 feet (68 m)
✅ Thick blankets of tephra have transformed the terrain
This eruption is a reminder of the dynamic nature of Hawai‘i’s volcanoes—and the importance of staying informed and safe. While the eruption occurs in a closed area of Hawai‘i Volcanoes National Park, it remains visible from many vantage points along the caldera rim.
Hazards associated with this activity include:
✅ Tephra is lava that travels through the air. Bigger pieces land near the vents, smaller pieces (Pele’s Hair and ash) can be carried by the wind.
✅ Volcanic gas becomes volcanic air pollution (vog) as it is transported downwind.
✅ Lava flows are contained to Halemaʻumaʻu crater.
The USGS Hawaiian Volcano Observatory monitors this activity, providing forecasts of this rare eruption style.
📸 Share your favorite Kīlauea memories from the past year in the comments!

Episode 37 of the ongoing Halemaʻumaʻu eruption began at 2:30 p.m. HST on November 25 and is ongoing. Sustained lava fountains at the summit of Kīlauea are about approximately 400 feet (120 meters) in height. Winds are light from the north-northeast and will take most tephra and gas to the south-southwest. Watch along on the USGS livestream cameras: https://t.co/ran7D1nbJa
