The pathways to bring back Dort seem near impossible if you’re staying under the 2nd apron
Hopefully he has a good market, we’ll see over the next few days
A trade kicker, insanely rare mutual option & gets him locked up for 3 years at a lower annual rate.
This is why relationships matter. This is good stuff.
The Thunder signing Hartenstein on a 3 year deal is incredible news.
This doesn’t mean that OKC will keep him all 3 years. But keeping an asset that valuable for multiple more seasons is great news.
OKC will likely have to make tough decisions in the future, but it’s great to have control on one of your best players.
Aday Mara: “So far I love the city.
I think it fits really well with the kind of person I am.”
Mara says he will talk to Serge Ibaka and Alex Abrines about OKC.
Otega Oweh: “I’m home. I’m back home in OKC. I’m excited to get this going. The type of player you’re getting is a junkyard dog… I’m a real down-to-Earth dude. Hope I can see all Thunder fans walking around outside and interact with me.”
I don’t think something like this is impossible
OKC wants to keep players on mid size contracts for potential trades, asset re-accumulation , so they might do this
I think it’s more likely Dort signs with a new deal in OKC than he signs a new deal on another team
OKC will only move Dort if they get a legit pick in a S&T is my guess
I’ll always be a big fan of Isaiah Joe, one of the best shooters in Thunder history and we don’t win a title without him
That first game where he single handedly pulled off the comeback against the Mavericks in his first run for the team was one of the first moments where it felt like the tide was turning from rebuild to contention
Someday they’ll finally put him in the three point contest and he’ll win it, wishing him all the best in Detroit
Thunder legend forever @zai_joe1
