@GraemePeacock1@Apple Some Google hits seem to show that newer drives will work, but I'm sure a computer repair place will be able to help you access the files. I suppose this isn't a one off though...
@SteB777@metoffice Great pics. I wouldn't have said they're "extremely" rare though. Northumberland gets them a few times a year. These are from a couple of nights ago in Whitley Bay about 1 am.
@RSmythFreelance Interestingly recent studies find the likelihood of diarrhoea being present is inversely proportional to the amount of stuff the parents need to do that day.
@MattEAShardlow@drnickisaac@Buzz_dont_tweet@newscientist Maybe resampling the 2004 dataset (which is way bigger anyway) such that it better matches the 2019/2021 in terms of journey distance, speed, date etc would be possible? That would be really interesting - and convincing.
@MattEAShardlow@drnickisaac@Buzz_dont_tweet@newscientist Shouldn't speed be a significant factor though? A "splat to bounce" ratio increases with speed - and is likely very non-linear. It doesn't make intuitive sense to see no effect. Also speed differences suggestive of different road type/habitat - maybe rural vs urban journeys?
@jmtd Might be able to pipe your existing device via e.g. ffmpeg to v4l2loopback. Used it years ago for something I don't remember.

@MilesKing10 I don't have any insider info on the choices, but yeh - I suspect that's the case. I wouldn't call any any of the organisms "simple" though - a high quality genome of anything can still be challenging even today.
