it gets to a point where you have no choice but to accept people for who they show you they are— when you get to that point, accept it and free yourself from their toxic illusion!
You’ll thank me later guys 🤍
Not to sound like a doomer, but the future of the black community is not in streaming, content creating, sports, or music
Those are cool options to an extent, but they aren't going to carry us as a collective across different industries
Keep your options open & be realistic
She has such a cutesy, confident, pretty-girl aura. Every time she crosses my timeline on TikTok or Instagram, I’m tuned in. She’s such a doll! You can tell she’s exactly who she thinks she is. 💕
Ppl love to say motherhood "shows you who your real friends are” & I don’t agree with that. You don't have the same life anymore, can’t do the same things, & your friends aren't obligated to slow down or alter their lives to match yours. It’s a shift in paths, not a betrayal.
Friendships can’t be based on who attends every dinner, party invite, etc. People really are navigating so many things on an ongoing basis and none of us are omnipresent. None of us are God.
I’ve always enjoyed having friends 20–40 years older. They’re never asking about my “goals.” They ask if I’m taking care of myself. If I’m laughing ... and if I’m making time for the things that make me feel alive.
I don’t know maybe 25 year old just don’t wanna be around you. Older mfs lose their creativity, vibrance, and start settling to avoid being a “ loser “ in the game of capitalism.
I talked to older and younger people. I learn from both groups. I know I’m not getting wisdom from a 23 year old and new shoes and pop culture from a 50 year old. It’s about balance, lot of y’all just lame as fuck.
Having children as a weapon is where we always lose the plot. Where they primarily reside doesnt negate parenthood nor does it give you control over them. Kids are people & this mentally is treating them like a tool. You dont control people, all ego.
THIS, has been my biggest issue with this conversation. Comfortable ppl fail to grasp that poverty isn’t just a lack of money, it’s CONSTANT erosion of the mind & body too. Poor ppl aren’t lazy or unmotivated, they are DEPLETED. & when you’re BARELY SURVIVING, you’re not choosing between good & better, you’re choosing between falling apart & trying to survive another day. So when y’all give this advice so casually, please remember they’re fighting battles you aren’t.
