If you care about giving children the love of reading, make sure you give schools & libraries proper funding. Make sure you give teachers & librarians the resources they need. And make sure reading for pleasure is the heart of your education policy - not endless joyless testing!

I just don’t get why people would get children to write the date and LO in their book? It’s the biggest waste of time and has no impact on learning. As long as you express to the children the LO through the teaching, you’ve covered that base. Why waste valuable learning time?
