Went out with the boys for a couple nights.

Night one: friend’s house, cards, cheap drinks, career-ending jokes, laughed until it hurt.
Night two: nice bars, then trash bars, lines, $18 drinks, and a bathroom full of sweaty strangers.

Night one won. Easily.

Maybe I’m getting old. Or maybe realizing you don’t need a venue when you’ve got the boys, alcohol, and zero logistics is just growing up.

I grew up in the suburbs. Then I lived in the country. After that, city people stopped making sense.

No freedom. No privacy. No land. Just a rented shoebox you pretend is “yours.”

Owning an actual piece of dirt you can do whatever you want on is a kind of freedom most people have never tasted.

Once you have, going back feels like putting yourself in a cage on purpose.
