A) This a properly brilliant piece of investigative journalism by BBC & @hopenothate. Huge kudos to all involved.
B) The Kremlin operative who BBC names as directing arson attacks against Keir Starmer was taught his tradecraft by…drumroll…Sergei Nalobin !!! Pictured here with Boris Johnson. Also: the star of our podcast series, Sergei & the Westminster Spy Ring! Wtaf
Trying to harvest everyone’s identities into a hackable database to prevent anyone from ever speaking out against the government… while pretending it’s about “making kids safe”…
Read more on the verdict below. The counterfactual argument that ultimately swung the case in Burnley's favour was this:
- Everton deliberately took PSR risks to avoid relegation.
- Everton gained a sporting advantage from spending beyond permitted limits.
- A realistic PSR-compliant Everton squad would have been weaker.
- On the balance of probabilities Burnley would have survived instead.

Just had a quick read of the burnley v everton verdict and this is huge. It arguably sets one of the most significant precedents English football has seen ahead of the 115 case. A premier league panel accepted that a rule breach gave a club a sporting advantage and directly altered a league outcome. Now read that again nice and slowly if you're a Liverpool or Arsenal fan 🤯
This case has huge implications for Clubs who feel they were disadvantaged by Chelsea's breach of the Premier League rules, and, IF found guilty, Clubs who may have lost out to Manchester City for trophies and Champions League places. Any sports lawyers thinking of going on holiday may have to postpone them.
Never seen it in my life. You give a team a corner, it means they are allowed to take the corner. If he felt we wasted time for the throw in, just add the time back at the end as is normal practice. What a weak ref
I don't know why but I failed to emotionally connect with the CL final as an occasion in the way I should have. Doesn't feel traumatic in the way 06 did, I was able to move on from it almost immediately.
Social media suggests 90% of football fans believe Arsenal waste more time than other teams in the PL. Yet the facts go heavily against this. How have they come to hold this fake idea as incontestable truth?
PSG's 12th man in action. The real star of the show
- Yellow to Mosquera on a set play he didn't even waste time on. No warning either
- Hincapie generates a high turnover near PSG's box (00:43). Foul against Arsenal
- Trossard, foul against for existing (00:50)
- Madueke penalty
- But most importantly every 50/50 blown for PSG. Not allowing Arsenal to build any momentum/rhythm and taking away their main advantage over PSG -> physicality
It felt like after Arsenal started playing more conservatively, the referee took it as a personal insult. Like he's an aesthetic football connoisseur. Then made it his purpuse to punish Arsenal for their "ugly" football
Individually there isnt one call that is a “travesty” particularly. But the aggregate effect of these calls is that the opportunities we could’ve had to build some attacking momentum were all nullified and we just continued to be put under pressure as a result
Mad sequence. Rice wins ball cleanly. Vitinha hand balls it to take it away from rice. Vitinha holds rice leg. Rice clips neves but doesn’t stop him. Saka wins the ball cleanly off neves.
Referee… free kick to PSG. Investigate this guy. Check his property portfolio next year.
I know it sounds crazy to say this but I feel like Josh Kroenke has some special connection with Arsenal. Haven’t seen him this invested in his USA teams.
Watching him in today’s celebrations it’s like he totally gets it.
Only Arsenal fans would pull something like this off after losing a Champions League Final yesterday.
We have the best fan base in the world.
That good even our rivals want to celebrate with us.
Just had a thought…
There will be a lot of big potential , commercial partners that will look at the last two weeks around Arsenal Football Club and want to be a part of it.
