Data privacy is a touchy subject - corps take a ton of it, but really can only use so much in order to personalize user experience.
With the popularization of agents that get full transparency and are great because of it, I think consumers are going to lean-in and ask that more be done with their data, not less.
I really think $FVRR can turn it around. People can now create more themselves with ai, but that doesn't mean they'll want to.
Instead, the best designers will use it to make even better work, more quickly, and for less.
I'm interested to see how it plays out, but wow, 300m is a wild price.
The notion of supply risk being the new key underwriting factor for vcs (vs demand in the 00's and 10's) is interesting because it's probably true and very much goes against the "taste is the new moat" model
Cool excerpt from Michael Moritz's 1984 writeup on Arthur Rock:
"He is almost always one step ahead of fashion and never expects a quick payoff. He makes up his mind swiftly, acts decisively, moves quietly and seems to have an impeccable sense for where technology and markets will meet."
Concise definition of a great VC
Not enough people are talking about @radicalvcfund new raise.
At > a billion dollars, it's the largest raise in Canadian VC history.
It would have been cooler if it was destined for seed instead of growth, but I still believe it's an augur of a special decade to come in Canadian VC.
@alexandr_wang Hi Alex, I feel like adding in a speech feature where Muse tells me at the beginning of the day all that's going on in it (personally and around the world), would be super helpful. Sort of like a personalized version of The Daily.
Respect and reverence for @travisk but Atoms is the NeXT of his career.
Going after robotaxi space sets him up in the same way Jobs building an OS at NeXT did for him.
Excited to see him back at Uber in the coming years.
@uynitsuj Justin - random reply because I can't honestly distill what XDOF does at its core in super layman's terms - can you give me the run down on XDOF? Is it models or data collection or actual robots or some combo of all these?
