@AwxNov On the state college radar the ivt band looks stationary for now. Rates increasing but not really moving much anymore. Hoping it holds where it is but starting to lose hope
@AstorAaron@bam_weather When air rises somewhere, it has to fall somewhere else. Since there is a snow band to the east and west (rising air enhancing the rate of precipitation), the sinking air just unfortunately ended up directly between them right over Raleigh
@ryankanerWX Easily the highest impact storm since Jonas. Been so long since we’ve had a storm of this caliber that it doesn’t even feel real. My first time saying confidently that i feel there is a 100% chance to get over 8”
@jake_wx Honestly a few hours of mixing at the end of the storm might be what we need to get into the heaviest snow rates and really stack up totals. And 12-18” with a glaze of freezing rain on top is a mess to clean up
@MrMBB333 What you’re seeing is the radar go from current observation (before the “anomaly”) to the “future radar” (computer simulation). Get one slight problem with the simulation and you get an “anomaly” on future like this. When the circles started is when the computer simulation starts
@MikeTFox5 I’m gonna lose my mind if this happens (I’m near Hagerstown and have not gonna a single measurable snow so far this season only sleet and flurries)
@Snowlover111232@amarkowitzWX The official measurements are taken at DCA and im pretty sure they are typically a good bit lower than the “unofficial” measurements taken in other parts of the city (capital hill, national mall, the White House…)
