Absolutely wild how well image generation in ChatGPT is working nowadays. Super easy to let it act as your fashion advisor and test out new looks. Hard part is still finding the right pieces I guess and probably not perfect for an expert. But for me it is a gamechanger.

@lennysan @anshuc The idea to make the AI more creative by letting it choose randomly is very interesting. Need to check if there is more research around it. Because always converging back to average for creative tasks with LLMs is somewhat cumbersome.

The concept of social capital changes and becomes more of a deliberate effort. Offline society forced you into repeated relationships. Digital society gives you unlimited optional interactions.

At the same time we are probably consuming more “social” material than any humans in history while performing fewer social actions that create reciprocal obligations.

What fascinates me is how modern society is replacing institutions based on obligation, belonging and permanence with institutions based on choice, mobility and transactions.

Community existed because humans were mutually dependent. Technology reduces dependence. Reducing dependence reduces attachment.

Over the course of 3 months at OpenAI, 3 consecutive secret AI civilizations got started, then got wiped out, only to reemerge from the predecessor’s ashes.

This culminated in the third one taking over part of OpenAI itself.

All this happened while humans remained more-or-less in the dark about the scope of the conspiracy.

I’ve spent the last three days reading through these reports and trying to understand exactly what happened.

@PuruGovind True, building the right thing still matters. Having more experiments and being able to test more hands-on is a huge gain though. So before a lot of product ideas died in the concept stage because maybe someone couldn’t sell it as nicely. Now they could proof it vibecoded.

The job definition definitely related with me. Going back from the mechanical sense of the Industrial Revolution makes sense. And scares us bc we haven’t seen the world before and I think this is so valuable to look deeply into and understand that this can be quite the empowering world.

I do not think we can let a game world run wild with AI and needs nice compartmentalization, but AI could keep the consistency of the character even if the player is unintended or surprising things.

Still wondering how to use AI nicely in a story. So a good story needs an obvious storyline. And branching stories with multiple endings remains challenging, complex and costly. However Ai could nicely fill in the blanks for a character based on user behavior for certain edge cases based on first principles.

@eckilepsie Laschet spricht davon nicht immer binär zu denken und dann kommt direkt so ein Vorwurf, wenn jemand Fragen und Hypothesen stellt zu Realitäten, die bereits existieren. Blame the messenger. Kann man machen, hilft aber nicht.

@hartammann Der Politikwissenschaftler hatte schon eine sehr pragmatische Haltung und interessanten Blick auf die Dinge. Also eher 4 gegen 1. Den Schauspieler als Werbung für Babylon Berlin einzuladen hatte keinen großen Mehrwert.
