@StephenJ_Caruso This isn’t a new concept. This bill has been introduced many times before. It’s moved around quite a bit too. There is almost no statewide regulation of tattooing in Pennsylvania other than that you have to be 18 to get one. Consumers deserve better.

@USBornNRaised @nicksortor @zerohedge I don’t recommend anyone chew batteries.🥵 But online record keeping saves lives by giving docs instant access vital pt info, even when it’s a new pt from different hospital. Like drug allergies, or interactions, current health conditions-even when the pt can’t provide that info.

(The company that got hit is only one of many that handle online records for health systems. It’s not the biggest one either. So there were plenty of hospitals near enough to the affected ones to safely divert. 3/3

Even though this was the status qua before, when ER drs just went with what they had and took a chance, (like if pt weren’t conscious and dr needed to give a drug without knowing if the pt is allergic, but thankfully, 2/3

I think the other issue is, especially for EDs, who take in sorts of pt whose chart they wouldn’t have access to, and patients may not be able to provide important information. (Like pt who comes in unconscious can’t provide information like medication allergies.) 1/2
