With @TorbayFood , I met Bridget. Since Covid she hasn't left her house. She is partially sighted and her optician had alerted the food bank. She had no support, or contact, and for the first week isolated, only had tinned fruit to eat.
How many are slipping through the net?
Permissive rights, not access. Can be withdrawn at any time.
Public payments to landowners. Yes, you read that right.
A stitched-up deal that does not solve the problem. We need a change in the law.
@AnthonyMangnal1 So to clarify you will actively campaign to overturn any ruling that stops the right of ordinary people to wild camp on Dartmoor. That’s great to have your support 😁
Great to have an EDM on the right to wild camp on Dartmoor tabled today by @RichardFoordLD.
Having expressed his strong support earlier today for wild camping on the moor I hope our MP @AnthonyMangnal1 will be adding his name to this on behalf of his constituents.
1. The main justification for the lawsuit against wild camping on Dartmoor is that campers might damage the land. Dartmoor *is* in a terrible state. But it has nothing to do with camping. It’s because, as soon as nature starts to recover, the sheep farmers torch it.🧵
What amazes me is how little it costs to buy our MP @AnthonyMangnal1 ‘s silence. #wildcamping#Dartmoor £5k in case you were wondering. If we had a whip round and gave him £6k would he speak up for us?
@AnthonyMangnal1 what’s your view on the right to wild camp in our national park? Here’s a short film I made for Dartmoor National Park to promote the right to wild camp, it was lovely to sleep out under the stars, you may enjoy it. https://t.co/y2puTGpOn0 via @YouTube
This is utterly obscene. Why on earth would you write this misogynistic vile abuse @JeremyClarkson & why @MetroUK do you think it’s ok to publish this hate? Sickening.
