Nadine Dorries' plans to scrap the TV licence put the BBC's future at risk. And that harms our vital creative industries and our standing in the world. Sign @bectu's petition now https://t.co/7mva8G1l9a via @megaphoneuk
Sadly they left 3.8m self employed and Ltd directors of small business out of any £0 all they got were loans they can’t afford to pay back! #ExcludedUK#forgottenltd@RishiSunak
Work has been scarce for much of our freelance creative workforce for *months* not just this xmas period. They can’t apply for a CRF grant… and neither can the rest of the supply chain. What support is there for those freelance theatre workers who’s 2022 diary’s are now blank?
Hi @NadineDorries. Just a reminder that you are secretary of state for @DCMS. The C stands for culture. Most 'culture' is made by freelancers. There is currently no financial support or guidance available to individuals who's work has now been cancelled. Please arrange some.
The culture recovery fund has been too cumbersome, too focused on buildings and too slow. The Sector is facing a disaster, once again & what is needed is an emergency support package aimed at @bectu@EquityUK@WeAreTheMU members who are currently facing lay offs & cancelled work
🚨 The arts sector, one of the hardest hit by the pandemic, faces a new and existential crisis from Omicron. I've signed the @Public_Campaign letter urging the Culture Secretary to protect UK culture with an emergency relief fund now. https://t.co/0927nLahCn
@harrisonmaxwell@scullyp@ConHome@FactCheck@BBCRosAtkins@fsb_policy Suicides, families loosing their homes, dependency on food banks and serious mental health issues are the result of @rishisunak divisive and discriminatory grant schemes. 3.8 million self employed taxpayers excluded from parity of support for over 1 year. https://t.co/jrI5eL4970
