They sold the patent to the University of Toronto for $1 each.

@chadasplund Interesting thought. It has worked for nursing. Athletic Trainers should function at the top of their license in all settings, and be properly compensated for it.
@simonj815 @ATCanonymous I worked as an AT in our physician practice. I then found myself doing more and more within the EHR. I became a super user and continued to expand my knowledge. Our teamwork skills translate very well in this role.
