Having listened to her this morning, I came away thinking once again that the Tories only value education if it equates to a high salary. There is no value of education for personal betterment, or the betterment of society. What about the brilliance of our creative arts?
Not sure why people can’t comprehend how student loan/debt should be treated as a scandal.
Most of us were TOLD at school…. When we were CHILDREN, you’ll get a loan which will have minimal impact on you, don’t worry about it too much, just apply on UCAS and hope for the best.
No one told us about the increase of crippling interest, how it will affect your ability to buy a house and your general take home income, with little hope of paying it off…..
No one thought …. Let’s ensure these financial products are fully understood by these bunch of KIDS who have never even had a credit card or an overdraft in life.
How can people understand misselling for car loans, Accident claims, loans sharks, but not this??
Rachel Reeves should be very careful arguing only graduates should pay for their degrees
Would be a lot of cold pensioners without our generation’s taxes. I don’t make much use of the nuclear deterrent either
Education is a public good, not a commodity
(5/7) I am deeply concerned about the impact this has on our community here in Liverpool, we are a proudly diverse City and it is abhorrent that anyone should be left to feel unsafe. Islamophobia and racism in all its forms has no place in Liverpool or the rest of the country.
We live in a grotesquely unequal society that concentrates wealth, status & power in the hands of a few.
Real patriotism is about building a society that cares for each other and cares for all.
@itvnews Funny how your out of touch commentary team couldn’t stop slagging off protestors for being “attention seekers” when they are trying to stop a race that 3 animals die for betting entertainment & sport. Comparing it to F1 & other risky sports as if the horse has a choice. ITV 👉🏼🗑️
I am pleased to see that momentum for a 4-day week continues to grow.
The evidence is clear: a reduction in hours boosts productivity & improves wellbeing.
As we said in our 2019 manifesto, "time off to rest, relax and be with family is essential to a happy & fulfilling life."
The results of the world’s largest trial of a 4-day week (with no loss of pay) are out:
▪️ No drop in revenue
▪️ 65% fewer sick days
▪️ 71% less burnout
▪️ 92% of companies decide to keep the policy after the trial
The conclusion is clear: we need a shorter working week.
Lancashire Police broadcasting missing Nicola Bulley’s health issues and hormone status to the world is a *serious* invasion of her privacy with no obvious benefits for the investigation. A shocking decision when the police’s treatment of women is rightly in the spotlight.

If rail, teachers, nurses, firemen, ambulance staff, bus drivers, had the same rate of increase, there would be no strikes.
