@LoteTuqiri Yeah but look at how people laughed off Tom Curry’s complaint in the World Cup. Remember him being labelled “unprofessional” rather than people queueing up to stand with him?
Seems not taking these things as seriously as we should is a wide problem.
@simon_rosenberg@GingerGorman A completely unquantifiable statistic I’m afraid. The measure of convictions for false allegations is significantly lower than the real number of false allegations in reality.
@Alissa_Moen@simon_rosenberg@GingerGorman That’s the question I was going to ask. Is the rate of conviction for false allegation the measure here?
Where no charges are proffered, does that mean they do not stand a realistic prospect of conviction, or are they false allegations? Unmeasurable!
@derekthedogYoga@sir_longmong @bearsnemesis @KOBCOB2@PeteNorth303 Genuine question - when you say “people who choose to champion free expression” does that include those with a far right wing outlook on life?
@tmcrumpet@MarcellaBrasset I’m obviously not privy as to why the murder was altered to manslaughter, but the slightly shorter sentence and parole period may be due to the fact that he pleaded guilty to it and it is a lesser charge.
@MarcellaBrasset Justice is someone being brought before a court, the evidence being tested and a determination being arrived at, under the presumption of innocence. It is not getting the result you want.
What about Lloyd Rainey and O.J. Simpson too? Just saying!
Just found myself in trouble at work for concealing some of my colleagues little “Lord of the Rings” figurines around the office….
Completely misheard when I was told it was IDAHOBIT week….
@redruby17 What if you weren’t born at the last coronation? Some of us will die before the next one, so technically it is a one in a lifetime event…for some. Duh
