🚨 Important message for every Canadian parent and concerned citizen 🚨
Hey everyone, I’ve been thinking a lot about what’s happening in our country and I wanted to share my thoughts about Bill C-9, the Combatting Hate Act which just became law today.
They say it’s about fighting hate, but as a mom watching what’s happening to our country, I’m deeply alarmed.
This new law expands “hate” offences in the Criminal Code with broader powers for police and prosecutors.
The dangerous question is: Who gets to define what “hate” actually is❓
In today’s charged climate, honest talk about mass immigration, housing crises, cultural changes, religious integration or how these shifts affect our families could easily be twisted into something criminal.
I’m tired of watching open debate get shut down. We need to speak truthfully about the real impacts on our communities, our services and our kids’ future, without fear of being labelled or silenced.
This is a serious step down a slippery slope that puts feelings over facts and freedoms. I’m not staying silent. As a mother, I refuse to self-censor.
I will continue sharing my honest thoughts respectfully, because our children deserve better than a country where truth is risky.
If you’re concerned about where Canada is heading, don’t allow fear to silence you.
📍Our voices matter.📍
Self-censoring out of fear of arrest or imprisonment is exactly what these laws want us to do.
I’ll keep speaking truth for my daughters’ sake.
We should also all watch the first arrests under this bill very closely to see how it’s enforced, especially after seeing how badly things have gone in the UK with similar “hate speech” laws. Our kids are counting on us to stay vigilant.
