JUNE 20th MEMORIAL DAY🌹
The day #VictimsOfGosport heard the echoing words:
“A DISREGARD FOR HUMAN LIFE”
This video is to ensure those who lost their lives will never be forgotten & for all to understand it’s a lonely & treacherous road to #Justice
https://t.co/kyjVMtwarX
@ann_poppy A scandal of scale beyond comprehension. Of horror beyond the human condition & contempt beyond arrogance that nearly 8 years since the inquiry report no govt of any description has had the guts to bring about the level of criminal convictions that this deserves
The families of the #VictimsOfGosport have carried the weight of silence, delay, institutional protection for far too long. 1998–2026, they have endured inquiry after inquiry, apology after apology, yet still wait for full truth, accountability, justice in this 7+ years £M40 5th Police Investigation.
@ann_poppy 28 years. Countless investigations. Endless apologies. Still no full accountability. The families should not have had to carry this burden for nearly three decades. We will not stop until the truth is fully acknowledged and justice delivered. #JusticeForGosport#VictimsOfGosport
Shame on all those who attacked genuine #Whistleblowers like @TracyAustin_ Today is just the beginning of the exposure of the #WBUK scandal. The truth has prevailed over the dishonesty and we hope all the #WBUK enablers take a good long look at themselves and their actions in defending the indefensible.
No genuine whistleblower who sees wrongdoing happening thinks "how much can I make from this".

HE BLEW THE WHISTLE ON DEAD BABIES. THE NHS SHOWED HIM THE DOOR.
Dr Stephen Bolsin joined Bristol Royal Infirmary (@uhbwNHS) in 1989 as a consultant anaesthetist. Within months, he identified that too many babies were dying during heart surgery.
He spent six years trying to fix it from the inside. Mortality rates for children's heart surgery in Bristol eventually fell from 30% to less than 5%.
You'd think that'd be the end of the story. It wasn't.
He wrote his first letter of concern to the trust chief executive in 1990, five years before Joshua Loveday, the last of 29 babies and toddlers, died after complex open heart surgery at the hospital.
A further four were left with brain damage. His letter received a dismissive telephone call in response.
The inquiry found mortality in Bristol for children under one was probably double the England average, and around a third of children who underwent open heart surgery received less than adequate care.
It described a unit with poor teamwork, too much power in too few hands, and surgeons who lacked the insight to stop operating.
The Kennedy Report was published in 2001. It found an old boys' culture among doctors, a lax approach to safety, secrecy about doctors' performance, and a lack of monitoring by management.
And Bolsin? He found it impossible to find another position in the UK and moved to Australia, where he became director of critical care services at Geelong Hospital and achieved world-class outcomes. The NHS got a new governance framework. He got a one-way ticket to Melbourne.
Members of Parliament confirmed that Bolsin knowingly sacrificed his job, his professional standing, and his young family's life in Britain in defence of what he knew was morally right.
His achievements in establishing clinical governance across the UK and globally have never been formally acknowledged in the UK.

NURSES RAISED THE ALARM. 456 PEOPLE DIED.
In February 1991, a group of nurses at Gosport War Memorial Hospital held a meeting at a colleague's house because they were scared to talk about it anywhere else.
They had watched elderly patients being sedated into death with diamorphine. Patients who came in for hip rehab. Patients who came in to recover. Patients who were not dying.
The clinical instruction was simple: "please make comfortable."
Staff Nurse Anita Tubbritt called the Royal College of Nursing. Staff Nurse Sylvia Giffin wrote to hospital management. Concerns had apparently been raised as far back as 1988.
The hospital's response? Nothing that stopped anything.
The NHS trust looked away. Hampshire Constabulary ran three investigations and prosecuted nobody. The GMC, the NMC, the coroners, local politicians and the Crown Prosecution Service all had a chance. All of them passed.
The doctor at the centre of it, Dr Jane Barton, retired. No prosecution.
In 2018, 27 years after those nurses sat in a living room trying to do the right thing, the Gosport Independent Panel finally confirmed what they already knew. 456 patients had their lives shortened by opioids with no clinical justification. Probably 200 more. Possibly over 650 people dead early because one GP prescribed lethal amounts of heroin-derived painkillers and everyone in authority decided not to look too hard.
The panel called the nurses brave. The government apologised. Jeremy Hunt told MPs that had the establishment listened, many of those deaths would not have happened.
Operation Magenta, the police investigation, is now in its seventh year. 29 suspects. 3 million pages of documents. Case files going to the CPS. Families describe the whole thing as "stuck."
The nurses knew in 1991. The system knew by 1998. The public found out in 2018. Justice is somewhere in a document pile waiting for a stamp.

The #Gosport immoral scandal is not only a story of unlawful deaths — it is a story of moral failure by those who chose to disregard human life and families suffering. #Article2
These two ‘bright sparks’ produced expert opinions that ignored the medical records and departed from their own clinical practice — commissioned by Hampshire Police on CPS advice. No proper scrutiny.
The CPS unable to rely on their evidence in court as it would cause a “TROJEN HORSE” but relied on it anyway.

“The doctor in the Gosport hospital horror joked with ex-colleagues in a self-pitying letter – whining about her own “miseries” after a probe into deaths under her care.”

She’s not ..We don’t want more inquests they refused Art-2 inquests in 2008.
Get them in court justice for the #VictimsOfGosport
By the time of 10 inquest in 2009, the State’s procedural obligations under Article 2 had already been clearly established through authorities including Jordan v United Kingdom, R (Amin) v Secretary of State for the Home Department, and R (Middleton) v West Somerset Coroner.
@ann_poppy Yes sending hugs Jason, and thinking of you at such a heartbreaking time. Riley was truly loved and had the most wonderful life by your side. ❤️@JasonGinnelly1
@Samhja Thank you so much Sam — that means a great deal, especially coming from someone in the profession. The truth matters, for our families and for patients everywhere. #VictimsOfGosport 🕊️
We will not remain silent it’s been a life sentence and punishing we owe it to our families the #VictimsOfGosport
When the time comes, the truth will be told.
Bishop James Jones and his Panel uncovered a story far deeper than the report itself. The real truth lies within the documents — the very records they believed would remain hidden. That is where the truth will be revealed.
That is when:
“ The fun starts here”
Families of the #VictimsOfGosport are enduring a distinct form of miscarriage of justice. In effect, they have been subjected to a prolonged form of institutional imprisonment—spanning 28 years—with evidence submitted to the Crown Prosecution Service falling on deaf ears. While both Hampshire Police and now Kent Police 7-years in the making appear to perpetuate that position—together reflecting a wider failure of institutions that turned a blind eye and continue to shield the individuals responsible for the unlawful acts in question. A judicial review is now pending
Thanks Will
