Former Boston Cyclists Union ED. Now I do bus stuff with the @mbta. 🚌🚲 Striving for car-light cities, upstream policy solutions. These tweets are my own
It’s true: after 7 incredible years leading the @bostonbikeunion, I’m moving on to the next adventure later this month.
So grateful for everyone who has made the “work” a delight. Together, we’ve re-shaped the streets around Boston! 🚲🚲🚲
Keep showing up and speaking up!
@hashtagRoberto@onekade@bphuang12 It should get better with the @mbta's Bus Network Redesign. There's a high frequency route planned from Everett to HSQ, and two routes going between Chelsea and Everett linking lines, one of which is high frequency: https://t.co/94dIA2IUGA (every 8 mins at peak!)
@bicycleurbanist@SenWarren That’s right! 🤩 a page I took from @wutrain, when she wore the green the day of Celtics game 1 in the NBA finals last spring :). Just another day of learning how to be a better Bostonian.
So grateful for all of advocates and activists who never gave up and fought for this project to both happen AND continue. And for the #GLX workers who laid every piece of rail and worked day in day out, through COVID through cold winters and hot summers, to deliver this project
@EitanNormand@ofsevit Bridge was reduced from 4 to 3 lanes to provide width for protected bike lanes. There's a lane for cars in each direction; the third is a bus lane. It's split, and provides dedicated space for buses halfway and then to the exit, where it's needed most.
@Urban_Connector Yes! Had a car in Boston for 6 yrs. Mostly used to get out of the city. Progressive parking policy in Somerville led me to get 6 tickets in 8 months. Decided: not worth it! Car died and did not replace, 8/2018. Now have an e-bike for longer trips, occasionally borrow a friends 🚗
I'm dressed as a triple decker because we need more multi family housing! If I wasn't so short, I would have gone for a taller building! @ABetterCambMA
@onekade You had me at the neeed to demand savory pastries and preference for savory breakfast, but you lost me at preferring anything over chocolate or almond croissants (esp preferring plain ones)!
@_holyspokes (And in defense of my calling for ebikes in the @RideBluebikes system in the name of equity, it should NEVER cost that much and won’t with the municipal ownership model. Private bikeshare cos operate in Providence. This was @ridespin or @BirdRide)
@_holyspokes Ok totally fair 🤪.
And after getting charged $27 for a ebike bikeshare trip in Providence (!!!), I wouldn’t say that’s your answer to College Hill either 🙄
