BBKA trustee Luke Whyatt has donned a yellow-legged Asian hornet costume and visited sites across London to highlight the BBKA's yellow legged Asian hornet week.
This year has seen the highest numbers so far. Awareness, Identification and reporting are the priorities.
Wokingham and District Beekeepers invited the Deputy Mayor to the planting of their Alder (Alnus glutinosa 'Aurea' ) in the King George V park on a very wet Sunday in April. The tree is part of the BBKA's 150 anniversary celebrations.

These rivers have all tested +ve for thiamethoxam since 2020 (data from Env Agency). This neonicotinoid was banned in Europe in 2018, but is allowed on sugar beet crops in UK. That is its only authorised use. Yet it is turning up in rivers all over the place... Hugely concerning.
