Silence in Dionysian Thought:
Dionysian theology is often mischaracterised as though apophaticism were the final destination of his approach to God. However, this is not the case. Negative theology is not the terminus, but rather a stage within a greater ascent towards Divine greatness.
Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength and all your mind.
And love your neighbour as God loved you and died for you.
Today, I was surprised by my wonderful team and reminded of a precious milestone.
At this time precisely thirty years ago, I was privileged to be entrusted with serving among our wonderful Coptic Orthodox community in London, and what a joyous and inspiring journey it has been. Thank you all for your love, graciousness, and generosity of spirit, and for everything that I have learned with and through you.
I've officially been baptized into the Coptic Orthodox Church. if I've wronged anyone or spoke in error, I humbly ask for your forgiveness. Hopefully soon I will start posting tweets about my experiences to help others find their way to the church
After our incredibly enriching International Consultation in Egypt last November, it is good to once again welcome my sisters and brothers, the International Board for @LOIMission, at the @CopticDiocese Bethel Centre for our annual residential meeting to discuss plans for this coming year and our strategy over the longer term.
Gathering exactly 15 years, to the month, after our initial exploratory meeting in London in 2011, I am so very thankful to have been journeying with this extraordinary group that has worked to faithfully allow us to bring people with a shared commitment and vision together around God’s mission for His world.
