Sally Rooney now argues that European fascism is a "boomerang" from Israeli colonial technique, that the AfD and the RN are downstream of the West Bank, and that "the liberation of Palestine really does represent the liberation of the world."

An argument that makes the world's one Jewish state the root of global fascism, and casts its removal as the liberation of humanity, is straight up antisemitism.

The far right she blames on Israel is the heir of the movements that hunted Jews across Europe long before Israel existed. She has worked her way around to holding the Jewish state responsible for the rise of its own persecutors.
