@lhlheure@downtownBotch@TVornbrock@MrJoKeR604 There is no chance they “didn’t complain once” while dying of cancer. My friend got terminal bowel cancer after exposure to toxic materials in the military. Choosing MAID gave him the ability to make a choice while he was able to and stop suffering. Autonomy is not weakness.
@realCSFreedom@KeiraAAShaw Then your issue should be with DND, not her. She met every requirement for the role they asked for. HS diploma, good standing in community, background check, training on administering youth programs. No PT, no BMOQ, etc. Why would it be her fault that’s what the standards are?
@JayDawg7dvn@JM_IMO@KeiraAAShaw She met all requirements for the role. HS diploma, good standing in the community, background check, training on administering youth programs. That’s it. They don’t complete BMOQ, there’s no PT test, they are considered non-combatant as they aren’t trained for it.
@sued709@JimmyThomist They can’t be activated, they do not complete BMOQ and have no combat or tactical training. Their only training is specific to running youth programs.
@MagChange_73 Incorrect. Universality of Service does not apply to members of COATS/CIC. They are exempt, as they do not complete BMOQ and have no combat or tactical training.
@ShashiJairam@dpattenjr My cadet COs didn’t prepare me for military service - BMQ did. Cadets was summer camp and marching band. But without adults willing to put in the time to organize, we wouldn’t have had a program. If I had to choose between this gal or no cadets, I’d likely have chosen her.
@tj081601 Why would she need to? Her role is to run a youth program. She has essentially an honourary commission as she has never completed BMOQ. Unless they plan to have summer camp in an active war zone, this will never be a concern.
@AsTrubludru@KinkadePau70767 There is no PT requirement for cadet instructors. They do not complete BMOQ. The only training they do is specific to cadets and running youth programs. She met the requirements she was being asked to meet (HS diploma, good standing in your community, police background check)
@JackieRafuse There’s never been PT tests for CIC. They don’t complete BMOQ. They’re Class A (1 day/mo) but some go Class B in the summer so they’re paid for avg 25 days/yr. Takes more time planning camps, prepping for parades, etc. on top of 9-5 jobs. It is not a lucrative gig.
@Melvjj47 Imagine calling a total stranger who met all the requirements she was asked to meet, in order to support a youth program in her community on top of her 9-5 job a pig and an embarrassment. You might want to look in the mirror, bud.
@CanadianStadium How would anyone be hurt or killed by a CIC officer planning summer camps, scheduling parades, and making sure all the kids old enough get a turn in the glider? CIC officers do not complete BMOQ, they cannot and will not ever be combat ready. There is no PT test requirement.
@fender_bender73 I also served and know there’s no requirement for her to pass a PT test. She will never go to war, as CIC officers do not complete BMOQ. They are not trained soldiers in any sense of the word beyond cadet specific training. Most work 9-5 jobs and work for the cadets on the side.
@Frank920214 CIC officers do not do BMOQ. The only training requirement they have is a course on teaching kids. They will never be called upon, and in fact they can’t be, because they never complete basic military qualifications.
@Tybernicus17@PDFFMEDIC Not in COATS. They don’t do BMQ, there’s no PT test, their only occupational training is a course on working with youth. They get paid for 25 days/year but give a heck of a lot more time than that running these programs because most working adults won’t.
@xMarcoComp Why on earth would anyone be shooting at her? She’s not active duty military, she’s never done BMQ. She volunteers 25 days/yr (min) on top of her 9-5 to run a cadet squadron. She organizes summer camps, plans parades, and makes sure all the kids get a turn in the glider.
@CandiBRed She’s not training anyone for survival. She’s running summer camps for kids, organizing parades, teaching them life some life skills and when you’re old enough they even take you up in a glider, oooh. Do you have this same feeling about people who run Girl Scout troops?
@CandiBRed That branch is called COATS. They only do cadet training. They never complete BMQ, they have no trade, there’s no physical requirement. They are people who volunteer 25 days a year (min) on top of their 9-5 to run cadet programs. Without her, they may not even have one.
@4nature She isn’t in the military. She’s a cadet training officer. Just a person that volunteers their time outside of their 9-5 job to run a cadet program. She’s never done BMQ, nor will she have to, because she’s part of COATS, not the reg force.
@wotnewdogg She’s not a liaison. She’s part of COATS, not the reg force. They don’t complete BMQ, and are not active serving members of the CF, they are cadet training instructors. She’s just a person that volunteers her time outside of work so kids can have this program. Hardly offensive.
