@SirJarus This underscores the level of retrogression in the quality of materials and workmanship available to us today. Nigerian artisans used to be among the best, so also our made in Nigeria materials. As we outsource our production to China, our people bring in sub-quality materials.
@ChisomAgbafor But it’s the same thing. If you pay rent yearly as in Nigeria, you must have been saving it monthly from your salary that comes monthly. By the way, rent used to be a monthly thing in the 90s in Nigeria. I remember when our caretaker used to come every last Saturday of the month.
@chi_quiero And to think election materials get to these places yet the children do not have functional government schools to attend speaks volumes of leadership failure.
A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children - Proverbs 13:22
Reading of an educational trust fund being used to train someone’s grandchildren in schools people considered expensive is a classic example of this truth.
@emochris12@jon_d_doe She knows her sister more than everyone. By the way, as an eligible single, I doubt if she oils want to rent an apartment on her own as some ladies prefer to be married from their parents house.
@AAyankanmi@PaulUdeozor@ShehuSani There is nothing remotely indicating that refining staff can’t be part of the union. I cited those companies to help elicit what exactly he is afraid of. By the way, in the countries where those companies have their refineries , staff are unionized.
@PaulUdeozor@ShehuSani Companies like shell, Chevron, Exxon alllow their staff to join PENGASSAN, and their staff are not laid back or inefficient. Why is Dangote afraid of allowing his staff to join union? It simple - He doesn’t want to pay correct wages and benefits, nothing more, nothing less.
@FigLynch@akintollgate I think the point this person was trying to make is that there is likelihood he still had access to credit card facilities to have helped stayed afloat for that period unlike in Nigeria where most don’t have such privilege. This doesn’t take away from the inspiration of the post
@oil_shaeikh@mayowa_adebolu That translates to roughly N2m per pile. You know it is also a function of depth. Piling around Gbagada and Anthony can go as far as 18-26m depth. Even for this multi storey can go as far as 37m depth. This is massive for residential. It’s better to always do the right thing.
@SirJarus You will even have better negotiation power for the next job as a current full time employee than a contract staff in Nigeria. Unless you are fed up with your role in the bank, stay with your full time employment.
@SirJarus Why would anyone leave a permanent role for a contract role for just little addition? Have you thought about your self esteem as a contract staff? You will get there and see their full staff having additional pecks and you will be disgruntled all year round if not careful.
@IrohUzoigwe@asemota I don’t think the two people mentioned here will write a book on ‘from grass to grace’ because it does not resonate with their realities. However, one shouldn’t shut himself out from their writings because of their privilege realities which may differ from one’s.
@gabriel_bolatit@AliyuKwarbai You should know that their skill set is required globally and they can chose to go where the dollars is more favorable. If we don’t pay them well as a nation we will lose the best of them to nations that value them and pay better.
@tampioruobari@SirJarus I know PhD graduates in the US who joined intel, CAT etc. They are actually not few. Nigerian situation limit PhD to academics.
@tampioruobari@SirJarus You may be right if your sample space is Nigeria. But outside Nigeria, there are certain jobs outside academics that require PhD.
@SirJarus I have seen people who had 1st degree in Industrial Chemistry and went ahead for masters in Chemical Engrg in the UK. Though the person had 1st class but I know Nigerian university will not allow such. I advice you go for your MSc in Industrial Chemistry.
