@nickodonovan @d_spiegel @adamboultonSKY he’s politically biased otherwise he wouldn’t be so excited for such a small, barely noticeable effect. Look at the Israel charts, you’ll see a huge gap without any need of poisson regression that we can only dream of in the u.k.

@jburnmurdoch Yes, except if the UK vaccination strategy is not effective (and so far there isn't any evidence that it is) the easing of restrictions when we have 12k cases per day will give us another winter peak in the spring...

@jburnmurdoch I'm sorry but the trial inconclusiveness you refer to was rooted in low statistical significance (e.g. Oxford had a total of 2 cases of >65 in the trial data). In this real life "experiment" we have 100s of 1000s of cases...
