I agree. But where would I go? I mean, surely you’re not saying any of the preexisting systems has a perfect theology? At the end of the day, I biblically don’t see support of a church with one organizational structure. I know smarter people have set out before me and i don’t think I’ve ‘figured everything out’. But I’m not left based on that admission with a belief that i should submit to one random historical denomination. What about you?

Communion is an ordinance of remembrance and active faith—a visual sermon proclaiming the Gospel to remind weary sinners that God gave Himself for their salvation.

Are you in this Reformed Zoomer thing about schismatic stuff? I’ve never been too into that. Not saying he didn’t have a point or that schism historically isn’t wrong, it’s just a new topic to me … My theology doesn’t agree with Lutherans, didn’t agree with Presbys, doesn’t agree with Dutch Reformed, doesn’t agree with Anglican, doesn’t agree with Baptist, doesn’t agree with my nondenom church either. I think it should be nearly impossible for you to find a church with a theology you basically fully agree with. I think the church is more of a place where you find the faithful preaching of the words of Christ (not meaning their hermeneutic aligns the best with yours or you agree with every interpretation they have in their exegetical explanation, but rather how faithfully they point to Christ, elevate the gospel, and feed you with Christ’s words in scripture without maligning it), and administer the sacraments of baptism and communion, you can be loved and served by Christians(in deed, need, and by word, like reminded of the gospel in your life circumstances) in your life, and you can love and serve other Christians(in deed, need, and by word, like reminding of the gospel in their life circumstances), maybe throw in an expectation of church discipline for your good … I think if you have those things, I think you have a proper church (not any will be perfect) and there will be a level of personal choice and commitment (cannot leave out the spirit’s leading through prayer) to select one where those aspects are given in Christ to you.

Going from where I came from and my environment, to become “un-schismatic”, I have no idea even where I would go. Pres or Lutheran? Lcms or pcusa or pca or some other mainline? The church is more fluid than that. There’s so much more to get into, like that the church , although non denom, souls still certainly be connected to other churches in fellowship and support etc etc
