Over a decade on and only now am I able to talk about my experiences of the #cjs and #emotionalabuse .. that I wasn't able to see all that time. #failedmothers#womeninprison#motherhood
Did you know a marrow is actually a courgette that has been left on the plant to grow a little longer? Conversely, if u pick a marrow when small, it’s actually classed as a courgette? I didn’t either, until one of our gardener ladies told me today! Amazing but, it seems, true!

@kelsmartyn Congratulations, onwards and upwards.

We hope that @DominicRaab will put addressing the drivers of crime - namely poverty, trauma, mental ill health and substance misuse - at the top of his agenda.
Working alongside people with lived experience will be integral to any reset of the criminal justice system.
Participants wanted! We are looking for people with lived experience of both prison and cancer to take part in online workshops to help improve cancer care in prison. Questions? Please email [email protected] RTs are appreciated
@AntoniaRomeoUK@hmpps @DGProbWales @MoJGovUK@RobertBuckland Essential indeed. Long time coming.

"It was very concerning to see that the prison is regularly being used as a ‘place of safety’ for women with acute mental health difficulties. These women should not be kept in prison where, out of sight, they exist in an environment that does not begin to address their needs."
‘We hid our emotions.’ ‘We had a secret.’Too many children with a parent in #prison feel this way. This is why 1-1 support is important, work through their feelings & emotions, as well as opportunities to meet others who share similar thoughts & know they’re not alone #itwasntme
