Hamid and Vahid Arzanlou were successful entrepreneurs in Iran’s furniture industry. Wealthy, respected, directly employing 200 workers and supporting over 1,000 livelihoods across their supply chain. They could have protected their comfort. They chose freedom instead.
They helped organize one of the largest strikes in eastern Tehran on January 7. The very next day, they were among the first in the streets protesting the regime.
Hamid was shot in the head. When Vahid ran to save him, he was shot in the neck.
The regime then demanded over one billion tomans ($6,670) from their family just to return their bodies.
These were not desperate men driven by “sanctions” or poverty. They came from a working-class family, built everything through hard work, and still chose to fight for a future they will never see.
So the next time someone claims the uprising was just about the economy, tell them about Hamid and Vahid. The revolution is being driven by all of Iran - rich and poor, young and old - united by one truth: the Islamic Republic must go.
Free Iran from the mullahs and let this extraordinary nation finally live.

@damienghader@damienghader I'd really appreciate if you share your prompt with me. I am about to build the onboarding experience for my app. I was wondering about using Typedorm style open source projects or build something new from scratch. Your tweet inspired me to do it myself.
