One year since this audacity.

The victim is bedridden, disoriented, and surviving solely on support, fed through a Ryles tube and requiring round-the-clock nursing and specialized care just to stay alive.. As a family of four with only one earner, they’ve exhausted their savings and borrowed heavily to cover monthly medical bills running into lakhs. They are now crowdfunding, having received no support from the accused’s family.

Meanwhile, the accused is out on bail. The case drags on with long adjournments, and according to a post in r/jammu, the High Court has interim-stayed proceedings under Section 109 (attempt to murder), though I couldn't independently verify this.

What should have been an open-and-shut case will be dragged out for years. Once public memory fades and the family loses the spirit to fight, which they already have, the accused will walk away without consequences.

Today, I visited the Power Department, and what I saw will stay with me for a long time. The office was filled with poor men and women whose electricity had been disconnected through smart meters. They weren’t asking for charity. They were begging for a little time.
One father with tears in his eyes pleaded before the engineer.
Sir I just got my daughter married. I couldn’t arrange 5,200 because of the wedding expenses. Please give me just two days. I promise I will pay every rupee.

The answer was simple. Sorry we can’t do anything. It is automatic. First pay. Only then will your connection be restored. My heart sank. Tell me How much money do government departments owe the Power Department? Have their electricity connections been disconnected? How much do politically connected and influential people owe? Have their connections been snapped?
Or is the law meant only for the poor?

A poor family misses one payment because of illness, a daughter’s marriage, or unemployment and their home is plunged into darkness. Meanwhile those with power and influence rarely face the same consequences. This isn’t just about electricity. It’s about dignity. It’s about justice. It’s about humanity. If rules are to be enforced they must be enforced equally. Justice cannot have two standards one for the powerful and another for the powerless. For countless struggling families, smart meters have become a symbol of fear rather than progress.

2/ We verified it. The complaint was prima facie true.
3/ The official concerned has been suspended. The proceedings to dismiss the official from service have been initiated.
4/ Here is what we every want person in Jammu to know — an income certificate, a domicile, a ration card, a fard, a revenue document, these are your entitlement as a citizen . Anyone asking for money is stealing from you.
5/ And here is our commitment: complain, and you will be heard. Your name stays anonymous. The action will be public.
6/ Just tell us if there is any official demanding money/gratification for any legal service. We’ll take it from there and with speed.
Do not pay. Do not adjust. Do not let it go. One complaint moved an entire system yesterday. Yours can too.

Just saw a highly privileged kid stepping out of a top NEET coaching centre in a black Scorpio with two guards in civil clothes. Right behind him, another student cycling home with no reservation. This kid’s (Scorpio guy) father is a bureaucrat who got in through reservation. Now the son will also claim the same quota.
Tell me on what basis does this boy deserve reservation?
Privilege wrapped in the language of “backwardness.”

Paper leaks do not just compromise exams. They shatter dreams built over years of sacrifice and destroy careers before they even begin. Worse, they leave an entire generation questioning whether honesty, integrity and hard work still have any value, or whether money, deceit and fraud have become the only route to success. That is not just an examination crisis. It is the moral collapse of a society and the institutional collapse of the State.

@OmarAbdullah, the evidence from the unresolved JKSSB scams and the latest JKPSC Lecturer scam is now too glaring to ignore. Where the credibility of an examination stands compromised, order an independent probe, put the provisional lecturer lists on hold, and conduct a re-examination. Those who have cheated their way into ironically teaching in the schools and colleges cannot be entrusted with shaping the future of J&K in the form of its classrooms.

Also End the outdated printed-paper system that leaves multiple points of vulnerability for leaks & opens up vistas for scams.

From ssb to especially recent lecturer exam ,the least your government can do is act while these lists are still provisional . This is the moment that will define whether your latest outrage is truly sincere or merely noise. Ignoring it is no longer an option. The youth are watching this keenly and there will be reckoning at the ballots some day. Govts come and go, power doesn't last ,so kindly act while you can !

Now that the paper leak debate is back and Jammu & Kashmir is once again being mentioned, it has brought back some of the darkest memories of my life.
I have never spoken about this publicly, but today I think it’s time. I am a victim of a PAPER LEAK.

Yes, you read that right.

In June 2022, when the results of the JKPSI/FAA/JE Civil examinations were declared, we noticed glaring discrepancies. We raised our voices, placed evidence in the public domain, and the government had no option but to cancel the examinations.
We believed justice had prevailed. But then came the biggest shock.
The responsibility for conducting the fresh examination was handed over to APTECH a company that had already been blacklisted or faced serious allegations in multiple states. We again protested, approached the High Court, and the Court ruled in our favour, cancelling the process once more.
The government obtained a stay order. The Court clearly directed that results should not be declared until the final judgment. Yet the examination was conducted in December 2022.

We refused to stay silent.

In April 2023, the Ministry of Home Affairs took cognisance of the issue and directed the J&K Government to investigate the recruitment process, including how Aptech was awarded the tender and the overall functioning of JKSSB. A Review Committee was constituted under Government Order No. 487-JK(GAD) of 2023 under the chairmanship of Raj Kumar Goyal, IAS.

Then came the High Court’s final judgment in August 2023. The Court placed complete reliance on the Review Committee, directed it to submit its report within ten days, directed the Chief Secretary to take a decision based on the review committee report within the next ten days and ordered that JKSSB shall not proceed with the selection process until the Government takes a final decision based on review committee.
And in November 2023 the Govt declared the result without taking the review report into consideration.
Nearly three years later, that report has never been placed in the public domain.
We are told the findings are adverse. Some students have managed to access the report. Yet justice remains buried.

Since that day, I haven’t been the same. I have struggled with anxiety and the emotional scars of watching years of hard work disappear because of a system that failed us.

Today, I am making a request I never thought I would make.

To the media, investigating agencies, civil society, and most importantly our elected government headed by @OmarAbdullah Sahaab please hear us. Please don’t let this be forgotten.
We have evidence. We only ask for one thing, the truth and justice.
No student should lose years of their life because of corruption.

You are absolutely correct about the SSB paper leak in J&K @JPNadda ji but you have got the date wrong. It was 2022. The government wasn’t of NC & Congress. It was a government headed by Lt. Governor but thank you for reminding everyone of this failure. It involved these observations & orders of the J&K High Court. We have no idea what happened to the High Level Committee or its report. Perhaps you can share that with us in your next press conference.
