@ThatchEffendi Most genocides occur in the context of war. Rwanda is a good comparison here. Indiscriminate bombing/shelling of central Gaza and rhetoric indicating genocidal intent were present from the afternoon of Oct 7th. Genocide should be a legal and academic term, not a political one.
The highway system of Europe offers way more of a feeling of true freedom, to drive across borders that millions have died over, now an afterthought, a literal bump in the road. Also you can hitchhike.

I am a US citizen & Surgeon who took care of the Boston Maraton Bombing victims in 2013. I paid for 7 years to own a small apartment in downtown #Beirut for my 3 kids to enjoy summers there. Today, #Israel reduced my dream home to rubble, with american weapons, paid by my taxes.
Introducing Serhii Rotchuk/Grushin, one of the leaders of the Azov medical service. His oldest IG post has him wearing a "Rock Against Communism" (white power music) shirt produced by the 🇷🇺🇺🇦 neoNazi group "Wotanjugend." He's also interested in 🇧🇪 Nazi collaborator Leon Degrelle
Despite there being no threat of any kind, the US submarine sailed away with no attempt to pick up survivors, leaving them to drown.
Breaking the first and holiest unwritten law amongst mariners.
One of the things that triggers me the most in war literature (from memoirs to official reports) is the description of someone being hit by any unidentified rifleman as being hit by a “sniper”
NEW | Israeli Bulldozers Destroy Gaza War Cemetery, Flattening Graves of “Allied Soldiers” - The Guardian
Israeli occupation forces have bulldozed parts of the Gaza war cemetery in al-Tuffah, erasing graves of dozens of British, Australian, Polish, and other Allied soldiers from the First and Second World Wars, according to satellite imagery and local witnesses.
Rows of gravestones were removed, topsoil churned, and large earth berms built, suggesting the use of heavy machinery. The destruction was systematic, affecting areas inside and just outside the cemetery, including plots dedicated to Australian soldiers and Canadian UN peacekeepers.
The cemetery, maintained for decades by Essam Jaradah and his family, also contained memorials to Indian, Hindu, Muslim, and Turkish service personnel. Jaradah described the site as a cherished public space with olive trees and historic value, calling its bulldozing a “sorrow like losing my mother.”

Ok comrades. I’ve slept on it and I’m here to admit that I do have a dark food secret. But it’s not DoorDash and a credit card. It’s tinned fish hoarding. This year I’m saying no. With the help of family & friends, I’m gonna “eat these down”. One tin per week will get me there.
Hey Buddy !
Black cockatoo visited today. Alone.
Unusual.
They usually have some news or other.
Checked my phone. A friend had been admitted to hospital.
He was just letting me know.
Thanks Buddy.
