It is 10 PM, and I am so happy. I cleaned my room and tidied up my MacBook, and I wrote down my plan next to my desk for tomorrow. I can start tomorrow with a clean slate and be efficient, and just thinking about that makes me fall asleep much more easily.

It is just like when I am working on a car: I can spend six hours straight on it without feeling the slightest bit burned out. It is entirely a mix of pressure, excitement, and exploration as a complete beginner.

For me, that experience has been a huge turning point and inspiration in my life. I really believe that whatever we do in life, we should approach it with that exact attitude.

@Markmanson About two weeks ago, I started training my brain. I went from only being able to stay disciplined and focused for five minutes to now being able to hold that focus for over thirty minutes.

I still think about the year I sublet my student dorm, bit the bullet, and bought a little Toyota Yaris to road-trip across Germany.

I drove from Hamburg and Bremen in the north, to Berlin and Dresden in the east, then all the way down to Lake Constance and the Black Forest.

I slept in the car at night, parked at FitX gyms during the day so I could shower, and grabbed breakfast from supermarkets.

Looking back, it was basically hardcore budget travel.

But gas was a lot cheaper back then, too.
