Chrystul Kizer was 17 when she killed the 34 year old man who had abused and sex trafficked her. Although a life sentence was sought she was sentenced to 11 years in prison in 2024 followed by five years of supervised release. They don't do this to men who murdered their wives
I will always be pissed about this case. The cops had VIDEO evidence that Chrystul's trafficker was abusing about a dozen little girls. They knew he was a trafficker. And the courts decided she had no right to kill the man who did that to her.
Fuck every last one of them.
this is the real problem. all these poor animals died to feed someone, and instead the meat goes in the trash. this should be highly illegal on a planet w finite resources, and instead its an economic guarantee under capitalism
Two thirds of Alzheimer’s patients are women. Not because women live longer, but because estrogen protects the brain. When it’s suddenly stripped away, the brain literally shrinks. Brain fog in your 40s isn’t “just stress.” It’s a red flag. But instead of addressing hormones, women are gaslight with antidepressants or told to meditate. Fast forward 20 years and she’s in a nursing home and can’t remember her own kids. This isn’t “normal aging.” It’s medical negligence. And despite most Alzheimer’s patients being women, much of the research is still done on male mice instead of female mice. That’s not science, that’s neglect.”
& unfortunately not everything is recoverable. some environmental impacts will be permanent. any endangered species we lose? permanent. cutting down the ancient trees? permanent. the chemical pollution? permanent. the climate impacts? permanent. clean water loss? you guessed it
the thing abt climate change is that the earth will be fine, it always has been. it used to be a ball of volcanic ash and primordial soup. we however will not be fine
A Texas woman got an abortion. So Texas police used 83,000 Flock cameras to track her down. 83 THOUSAND!! They aren't using these cameras to track down rapists, pedophiles, or traffickers. They're not using them to find your missing children. They're using them to throw women in jail for making choices about their own bodies, with OUR tax dollars.
i don't want kohen wiley's name to fade away with time. he was more than another headline about police violence against black people. against black children. i want his case to continue residing in the hearts of everybody who ever heard or read about it.
justice for kohen wiley.
you have no healthcare, can't buy a house, rent is almost unaffordable, food is skyrocketing, no paid leave, no childcare. but your tax dollars will fund a foreign country with healthcare, paid leave, childcare + funding the entire lives unemployed settlers & the orthodox.
My wife and I got into it last night about the grocery bill.
I pulled up an old Target order from February 2020.
28 items. $64.50.
Added every single one back to the cart just to see.
$158.30.
Same 28 items. Same store. Same cart.
$93.80 more.
In five years.
We didn’t buy more.
Didn’t upgrade anything.
Didn’t add a single extra item.
Just needed the same things we always needed.
They told us inflation was transitory. They told us it was under control. They told us the economy was strong.
Our cart didn’t get any of those memos.
145% increase in five years.
Not one member of Congress has looked at a grocery receipt in decades.
And it shows.
I don't want a "Smart Fridge" that orders milk for me. I want a fridge that lasts 25 years and doesn't have a privacy policy that allows it to share my late-night snacking habits with my health insurance provider.
Literacy is becoming the new class divide. Not formal education, LITERACY. Many people can't grasp nuance, satire, or irony. Illiteracy limits how you read the world and the room. The gap between people who engage with complex ideas and those who consume clickbait is vast.
“Humans caused this” no. humans have lived alongside and even grew ecosystems for hundreds of thousands of years. What has caused this is European-driven and influenced settler-colonialism and mass industrialization. There’s no way around that.
Yes, it's completely abnormal for people to spend more time at work than with their families. We need a 4-day, 32-hour workweek with livable wages. There is no reason people should be working this much. The working class deserves to live their lives too.
