Remember the grave concerns that Judge Beverly Cannone had when the Commonwealth falsely and prejudicially represented that “embedded within the bumper to [Karen Read’s] vehicle is pieces of cocktail glass” during pretrial litigation? Me neither.

This greatly prejudiced #KarenRead to the public and potential jury pool before she’d ever gone to trial.

The term “embedded” would be republished, reprinted, and reiterated all over local news reporting on the case.

In fact, one of the most highly viewed stories written about the case, by Gretchen Voss of Boston Magazine, also repeated this prejudicial lie (see below).

Additionally, from a pretrial hearing in May 2023, ADA Adam Lally indicated that the Commonwealth’s theory was that Officer John O’Keefe’s right arm wounds/injuries were caused by a broken cocktail glass.

How many times has their theory changed? I’ve lost count. I guess it’s easy to have an ever changing theory when your evidence is rooted in creative liberties, and not actual fact.
