a client of mine told me how she gave two strangers at a bus stop her brand new sweaters she had just received for christmas because they were cold. by normative standards, this woman has nothing, but to me, she has her beautiful heart, and that is EVERYTHING.

Before the president gets on television tonight to peddle lies and conspiracy theories, here is what you need to know:
The 2020 election was not stolen. We won, and he lost.
Pope Francis was the rare leader who made us want to be better people. In his humility and his gestures at once simple and profound – embracing the sick, ministering to the homeless, washing the feet of young prisoners – he shook us out of our complacency and reminded us that we are all bound by moral obligations to God and one another.
Today, Michelle and I mourn with everyone around the world – Catholic and non-Catholic alike – who drew strength and inspiration from the Pope’s example. May we continue to heed his call to “never remain on the sidelines of this march of living hope.”

If your Christianity causes you to be offended by someone asking the most powerful person in the country to be merciful towards the powerless, then you have deeply, deeply misunderstood the teachings of Jesus Christ.

Please share, while we still can. And yes, it has happened here.
Your mental health needs to be a priority. So don’t be afraid to talk about what you are going through. We are all struggling with something and talking about it isn’t a sign of weakness. It shows strength. Don’t struggle in silence.
If you are struggling with something, talk with someone about it. Don’t suffer in silence. Don’t try to go through it alone and don’t give up. Your life is worth living.
You don’t have to suffer in silence to show how tough you are. There is strength in asking for help. There is strength in talking to someone about your struggles. There is strength in being vulnerable. We are all going through something in our lives, so let’s support each other.
I don’t think people realize how hard it is for those with mental health challenges
to engage in basic tasks essential for living independently.
So, if you showered, sponge-bathed, ate, got out of bed, brushed your teeth, or combed part of your hair,
I. Am. Proud. Of. You. -Dr. Jen
The more you heal, the more willing you are to let people face the consequences of their actions. You no longer feel responsible. You no rescue. You allow them to be with their choices. Knowing that's the kindest thing you can do. Life teaches.
Trauma is cumulative.
Each time we experience it, it’s like our nervous system takes another “hit.”
HEALING is ALSO cumulative.
Every step towards nervous system regulation is encoded such that even when we feel an ebb—
NO HEALING IS EVER LOST.
THINGS I’M NO LONGER APOLOGIZING FOR:
* My feelings
* Having boundaries
* Saying NO to something I’m not really interested in doing
* Not answering the phone when I can’t or don’t feel like it
* Taking a break
