There’s lots of hype surrounding the release of 70 mm IMAX tickets for Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey.

In Calgary, we have a two IMAX theatres, but each has its own technical upsides.

In the first of Andy Weir’s sci-fi novels adapted for the screen, Ridley Scott creates a realistic Mars, blending the scientific know-how of the book with high-stakes action and a bit of fun.

Sunshine (2007)

Sunshine has all the dressings of a standard space adventure, but takes some unexpected twists and turns, making it feel like its own fresh take on the genre.

I’ll watch a Danny Boyle directed and Alex Garland written film any day of the week.
