Aside from all the other valid reasons why abortion should be legal, from a psychological perspective, feeling unwanted is one of the most profoundly traumatizing experiences a child can have. It takes years of therapy to even begin to work through that parental trauma
I was a young 2nd year resident covering the nursery service overnight when a woman was admitted to be induced & deliver a baby with multiple congenital anomalies not compatible with life. She didn’t learn of these anomalies until after the gestational age for abortion.
Just so we're clear: the pregnancy that ends up in the wrong spot, like the fallopian tube? The one that will NEVER turn into a baby and will rupture and kill your wife, daughter, or sister? Terminating that fetus is also an abortion, and they want to ban those, too.
