The Reflecting Pool incident is ANOTHER example of how Trump's BEHAVIORAL DISORDERS puts us all at risk.
The issue is NOT that the contractor screwed up, or that they falsely accused a person of a crime, or that they bombastically doubled down on TV, or that they had to recant the charges and admit the truth.
The issue IS that Trump is UNABLE to recant or admit fault on this - or anything - and that includes matters large OR small.
The media need to have psychologists on to explain the pathology at play. This nutcase is President, FFS. Let the experts speak!
Looking back, the Sharpie weather map incident was truly one of the first such missed opportunities to speak to his pathology. He doctored a map in black ink in plain view. He then sat there on TV, ranting. It was SO far out there, it should and could have been seen as concrete evidence of how uncontrollably dysfunctional he is. But again, they didn't let the experts speak!
Sharpie is an example of an incident where mental health pros could and should have been engaged on TV for opinion and expertise. Back then, ANYONE criticizing him for ANYTHING got retaliated against - and we - psychologists - really didn't care. Tons of colleagues were willing.
Think about what the Sharpie incident was. Trump made a gaffe that a normal person could have easily walked back. But again - like the recent reflecting pool incident - he has an inability to let ANYTHING go. Large OR small. It's a pathological disorder. It's NOT normal and shouldn't be normalized.
If he would arrest a person who picked up a piece of discarded refuse from a botched refurbishing of a vanity project to further a narrative, then of course he would disappear migrants who were living here peacefully in communities to empower his personal police force and lie about it to further another narrative. And lie about a war. And lie about tariffs. And how much something cost taxpayers. And cheat at golf.
When you let experts speak and explain about Trump's pathology, more can view him through that pathology, and then it becomes OBVIOUS to more Americans that he'd NEVER accept losing an election.

Trump has been having a hypomanic episode the past 2 hours. Post after post after post. I count about 60 of them - mostly images, many of them AI. All his trademark pathologies; all his underlying themes: Malice. Grievance. Division. Entitlement.
His gut is a simmering stew of agitation, rage, and desperation. His disordered brain is filled with paranoid fantasies of revenge alongside fantastical visions of regaining his grandiosity.
He hates being trapped and stuck in Iran. He hates that Epstein won't go away. He hates being told his speech at the dinner was inappropriate. He hates that his name needed to come off a building. He hates that musical artists canceled from his show. He hates losing in court. And he especially hates his own mortality.
Neither you nor I can EVER feel the kind of frenzied fear and fanaticism that Trump feels now. This is a man, who knows he's in his final chapter, who is confounded that he, all that he is, all that he ever said he was, his lifetime of secrets and lies and false constructs - is vulnerable to exposure.
How can he possibly sit still? How can he sleep? Who can he trust?
Malignant narcissists in decline always get worse, it's always messy, and they never want to go down alone.
