There are heroes who are household names. And heroes who SHOULD BE. @MsLaToshaBrown is such. When the book is written on how Black women toppled an aspiring authoritarian president...tell her story🙏🏽She tirelessly traveled across this country, organizing MILLIONS. She is owed❤️👑
100 days out from election day, suddenly black lives is chicago matter enough for trump to warrant a national response after 1280 days of not caring. meanwhile 130k have died from covid19... still no coordinated national response whatsoever. right
Just remembered when I was little kid I was strictly forbidden from watching the Dukes of Hazzard by my mom because of the flag on the car. Good work, mom!
... a US president more concerned about saving non-living statues of confederate commanders who seceded from the US and were on the wrong side of history than he is about saving lives of black citizens. addressing patterns of police brutality. nope. no executive order for that.
"If we lose 65,000 people" -- Trump has moved the goalposts from no deaths to fewer deaths than the Swine Flu to 60,000 deaths & now to 65,000 or 70,000 deaths.
He's positioned himself to proclaim any death toll smaller than 2 million Americans as a reflection of his good work.
Bolton is such a smart bureaucratic infighter that he should understand Barr and the White House are only a few hours away from wrecking his book and his life.
Trump might even try to leverage Barr to pursue him on criminal charges.
His only path is to make it all public.
The head of @USOCC said in the press that anyone who doesn't like his proposal to water down a major anti-discrimination law is either corrupt or uneducated.
I don't agree with his proposal, so I challenged him to say that to my face in a hearing.
Spoiler alert: he declined.
Trump’s lawyers argued he has a right to abuse his power as much as he wants, and Congress can do nothing about it.
Sounds familiar:
Trump: “I have an Article 2, where I have the right to do whatever I want as president.”
Congress can do something: hold a fair trial.
