It’s #FossilFriday! Let’s swim back in time some 85 million years ago to the Late Cretaceous to meet Xiphactinus, a gigantic predatory fish. This species, which could reach lengths of 17 feet (5.2 meters), was capable of swallowing a 6-foot- (2-meter-) fish whole!

As baby birds learn to fly, they sometimes fall to the ground. If you find one, leave it be! We found this cliff swallow fledgling resting for awhile before it flew away. Most "abandoned” baby birds are actually healthy and will recover in time.

Great news! Members of the @Audubon_MN
Saint Paul Conservation Committee found five kestrel chicks in one of two nesting boxes at Belwin. The kestrels are nearly ready to fledge. Thanks to the committee members for their hard work to document North America's littlest falcon!
