@BrentBeshore@praxislabs Thanks for sharing Brent! Who you build with and alongside is one of the most important question founders need to consider. Mentors like you are one of the key pieces of what we get to share at Praxis. Happy to connect with early stage founders who have questions.
Thousands of startups and small businesses are at risk due to the SVB failure. We ask for depositors to be made whole, and for regulation to prevent this catastrophe.
650 founders who employ more than 22,000 people, have already signed.
Please spread the word.

@dave_blanchard I wonder if two products or different markets can fulfill the same mission (or keep a founder on the path to fulfilling their stated mission)? If so, it feels like we shouldn’t conflate product with mission, and the pursuit of product / market fit might keep you on the path…
As a founder, I often found myself stuck in a “mental loop.” It kept me up at night, limited my ability to engage, and left me depleted with my team, family, friends etc. One thing that worked to center me: late nights walks to the trees on Mt Tabor.
Do you ever get stuck in a mental loop, rehashing what happened, replaying what was said, revisiting the scenario over and over in your head?
This is #rumination.
Most important and underrated skill for founders:
Being truthful to yourself and others with what's really happening.
Recognizing failure or uncomfortable realities, and then being resilient so you can find the next step in the path.
“If we are isolated from one another, alienated from our own selves, it is in part because American cultural life leads us to believe that it is our purpose to be individuals first, members of a community second.”

@GuyBrewery@PrivatEquityGuy The friendship building before we made any kind of commitment together was key. And it was important that both of us felt like this was “our” community (vs. “mine”).
@GuyBrewery@PrivatEquityGuy Our situation was a bit different. My wife and I moved to PDX 12 years ago. We met a few couples, and it worked out that we both connected with both sides of the couples. We built friendships for 5-6 years, and then we all collectively decided to buy houses together.
@PrivatEquityGuy When you are building family, career, venture, etc: geography matters so much. Baby monitor distance was the goal. It’s been one of the most formative things I’ve done. Invite them in!
@ErickMVargas When I believed an investor / advisor were for me and the venture, it was easier to receive the hard feedback that ultimately pushed me to reimagine things. Trust is an accelerant.
Founders: what has been the most profound support you have received for your venture (or you as a leader) from an investor, advisor, or accelerator program? What has been your most significant letdown?
In community (intentionally building community is step one), you can still feel lonely. It's crucial to continue to cultivate our relationships and remain curious about one another. When your health and happiness are at stake, why wouldn't you? https://t.co/v7bwSvMP9Z
Seven years ago, I moved into a house that shares a backyard with three of my best friends. We share life together. We dream together. We started families and are raising our young kids. We are learning to be neighbors. If the American dream left you alone, build something new.
My hope each day is to find and support founders who are working on the most important issues of our time. What issues do you think founders should be working on? Who should I meet?
After building @ssekodesigns for a decade I still believe there are ventures (Like Kohl's!) that will help connect the dots between Gen Z and Millenials who say (73%) they want ethical fashion, but yet fund 100B purchase to Shein a year. Build the future.
"Hybrid work insists that how we work becomes as much of a tool as where we work." @danbladen is leading the conversation about where and how work will be done in the future. Where do we go from here, and how might we build a way to work that leads to the flourishing of all?
The redemptive frame captured my imagination the first time I saw it. What comes up for you when you hear there are three ways we can go out (build, operator, lead) into the world?
Redemptive: I sacrifice, we win: the motivation moves from being good to love and to serve. This is an aim to bless others, renew culture, and die to self as a leader.
