@caulmick@Independent_ie Never understand why we didn't go down the MOT model where any mechanic can carry out and provide an MOT. Centralizing in this manner will always have the risk of backlogs forming
NEW: "He is there in black and white - Leo Varadkar, in 2016, being informed of that."
- @leeofthemail of @irishdailymail on the controversy around the State's strategy on refunding nursing home charges
#TonightVMTV
@gavreilly "No case ever proceeded to a hearing"
What kind of statement is that? Wasn't that EXACTLY the strategy, forcing people to go the legal route and then dropping the case before the hearing and full disclosure 🤷🏻♂️
@michaelpierse The Director of Strategy for @rte is Simon Coveney's brother, surely everyone knows how Ireland works at this stage

@jimdundrum Funny I couldn't find which party you belong to in your profile, but considering you're FG I'd be keeping my head down for a while considering the revelations today, this is disgusting, even by FFG standards

The story in https://t.co/L3ifKQWiJi where it is alleged the state agreed a secret plan to block refunds of illegal nursing home charges is truly shocking. We need full transparency from the government and the full facts must be put in public domain immediately. @sinnfeinireland
I have written to the Oireachtas Health committee requesting it to write to the Dept seeking copies of all memos and documents referenced in the shocking story in https://t.co/vBS2n16BWK on an alleged secret plan to block refunds of illegal nursing home payments to citizens
@oconnellhugh Oh I think the AG, Donnelly, Tony, Watt and everyone else connected to this scandal are going to be pretty busy these next few weeks/months, this could cause an election, scumbags the lot of them

@TonyTonydeboi @ciaranbyrnetipp For housing, their core proposed policies include banning REIT funds, freeing up housing stock for individual buyers, which Canada has done to great effect and bringing disused properties back on the market; they can be reintroduced much faster than new builds
@circlete @ciaranbyrnetipp Assuming this is the article you are referring to, and I'm assuming you read it?
This is a build to rent scheme and should be banned from Ireland, these are 1,600 homes that you would NEVER be able to own, yet again locking a generation in rental cycles

@matters_gaa@AdamMoynihan You do have a basic concept of team sports right? If he's not on the pitch, which he shouldn't have been, then someone else needs to be on the line, freeing up a Glen man. Not saying they score a goal but saying it had no impact is deluded
@GAA__JOE Not from Glen but would absolutely request they appeal. Most likely this was an honest mistake, but if it is deemed acceptable at the highest level of club football, it will cause massive issues in the lower levels, with clubs doing it on purpose, thinking its worth the risk
Michael Stone was appointed to chair an inner-city regeneration board despite hoarding development sites in Paschal Donohoe’s constituency.
Stone twice received planning permission – which wasn't used – for developments on the derelict site.
