@FrDidymus@Francis17Sue Okay you have me there. "She failed to fully understand" is clearer than "She failed to understand fully" or "she fully failed to understand". "They plan to more than triple their output" doesn't work without a split infinitive.
@Francis17Sue@FrDidymus "We need to carefully consider this proposal." Is inferior to "We need carefully to consider this proposal"? "We're going to systematically address these issues." vs "We're going systematically to address these issues"?
@Scearpo This fantasy nonsense is actually deeply disrespectful to Taylor, who is a phenomenal fighter and athlete in her own right. Don’t include her in your delusion.
(Directed at the original tweet for the avoidance of doubt).
@benmsports@JamieWall2 It would have had more weight if it had come from one of your non-cunt players. Or just do a Sam Cane and do your talking on the pitch during the 80 minutes.
@GregAFC@JamieWall2 In Irish so by all means take this as biased.
Sam Cane is an excellent player and captain who was on the end of a solid sledge by POM. He remained classy throughout, and had the final word with the performance of a lifetime in the QF.
Ioane is, well, a cunt.
@EwanMacKenna@burgkev Would never dispute it’s a foul. I would just refuse to pretend it’s the single decisive factor, rather than one of a number of marginal calls over the course of the game. People obsess over what happens in the last minute or two, ignoring similar calls in the previous 98+ mins.
@EwanMacKenna@burgkev Fair play, I’m sure that’s an objective opinion based on dozens of hours of carefully calibrated research and not knee-jerk sensationalism in response to a marginal call after over 100 minutes of hurling.
@EwanMacKenna@burgkev Do you think this was the only potentially scorable free that the referee didn’t award for either side over the course of normal and extra time? Not saying it’s not a free but you need some perspective here.
Worst part is, and as I expressed I love Clare and they deserve it, but this is all we remember. What absolute shite refereeing, umpiring, linesmaning etc. Cork have been robbed to such an extent even Clare cannot enjoy that.
Sunak looked had a better debate, but I’ll always have a soft spot for crazed guys with nothing left to lose over risk-averse types. Starmer had the better tailored suit, wasn’t expecting that one #itvdebate
This is interesting but the point it is missing about making services open to all is that in that way you destigmatise it and you ensure it remains a thing people of good social standing can be seen doing. E.g. a youth centre that is only open to poor kids becomes diminished in social value, so engagement becomes harder. Equally if child care is only given to poor mothers, which in this article is described as independent child minder whereas I think in most places it would be kindergarten spaces, then it becomes low status and all shorts of problems come down stream of that. An important aspect of these spaces is that by attracting all kinds of families they give kids different reference points and networks.
