General CG Musa said nothing new about El-Rufai; he simply stated the facts as they were.

When my book is eventually published, the public will hear much more about how the administration of Nasir El-Rufai contributed to and facilitated the atrocities committed against the people of Southern Kaduna, including accounts I heard from some Fulani inmates I met while in Kaduna Prison.

El-Rufai must not be allowed to go scot-free for the atrocities committed against the people of Kaduna State, particularly the people of Southern Kaduna.

The revelation concerning Senator Shehu Buba, who chaired the Senate Committee on National Security and Intelligence, and allegations of his involvement in sponsoring terrorism in the country, is not new to me either. Last year, in one of my lengthy articles, I called for his removal from that position. I also called for the removal of the NSA, Nuhu Ribadu.

The painful truth is that many of these things are not difficult to uncover. What we lack is the courage and honesty to confront them. Instead, we continue to look away, politicise everything and protect powerful individuals, while innocent Nigerians continue to pay the ultimate price every single day.

At some point, the truth must prevail, and accountability must surely follow if we are to make any meaningful progress in the fight against terrorism.

The category of those brazenly attacking Gen. C. G. Musa CANNOT exude a similar energy anymore to call for the prosecution of the terrorist sponsor, Sen. Buba Shehu Umar, for the singular fact that the Supreme Council for Sharia’a in Nigeria has thrown solidarity behind the extremist.

🚨“I have tried to restrain myself from reacting to the fatuous articles attacking the Honourable Minister of Defence, Christopher Gwabin Musa on his comments on Nasiru Rufai. I have observed that most of these attacks occur on the Arewa Consultative Forum platform and similar others majorly populated by Northerners of the “Arewa” persuasion.

Whatever Nasiru's defenders might say in his defence, I concede their right to do so being his Fulani/ Moslem/ “Arewa” compatriots and also probably, some beneficiaries of his ignoble actions against the Southern Kaduna ethnic nationalities.

But their views do not alter the experiences of Southern Kaduna people in Nasiru's hands while he was the Governor of Kaduna State. To them, and by extension us (all Northern ethnic Nationalities and Christians), Nasiru El-rufai was what Adolf Hitler was to the Jews; no more no less. This is their reality, which as Christopher says, is mercifully being addressed by the current governor who himself is a Fulani/Moslem but of a merciful type; God bless his soul.

So we will resist any attempt by Nasiru's compatriots to lynch one of the best of ours in the person of Gen Musa, a brilliant patriot and a highly regarded military officer who served out his tenure with distinction. Instead, we advise that these so-called Nasiru defenders focus their attention on their Traditional Rulers, Senior Clergy, Federal Ministers and Senators from among their own who are currently mirred in controversies and allegations of being collaborators of bandits and kidnappers that are ravaging the "Arewa" of their dreams.

We advise that they focus the millions of their out-of-school children roaming the streets with pans in their hands and who are easy pool for recruitment in to insurgency and banditry groups.
But they should leave Gen Musa out of the predicaments of their own making.”

Some useless people on X were sarcastically asking what terrible things Elrufai did during his 8 year tenure.

Well I have time today so I will go into them AGAIN!

1. Kaduna was known as the worst place in Nigeria to be a journalist by the Nigeria Union of Journalists (2020)
He went after journalists—Luka Binnyat (Vanguard), Anthony Jacobson (Authentic), Audi Maikori (Chocolate City)—dragged from various states, and jailed unlawfully- this is someone who enjoys free press but limited press freedom when he was Governor

2. Even after the Adara King’s murder, 8 Adara elders that protested; Elrufai jailed them unlawfully for almost a year till the court freed them, they later sued Elrufai & won.

3. El-Rufai openly bragged in a video about entrenching Muslim Fulani rule in Kaduna and relegating Southern Kaduna people to the background, fueling division and religious bigotry. The video is still online and it sparked national outrage when it came to the fore.

4. In 2017, El-Rufai’s administration created a 13-member “reform” committee. It went about renaming 25 chiefdoms in Southern Kaduna, he slashed districts from 390 to 77, he purposely weakened the roles of traditional rulers’ roles in Southern Kaduna, and the 2021 law he enacted, demoted and re-graded chiefs all in a bid to promote Fulani hegemony in Kaduna State

Timothy B. Gandu, cited official documents, including a letter dated June 20, 2017, from the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), as proof that the state government under Elrufai—not the traditional institutions—originated the process of altering the chieftancy system.

5. Imposition of Emirates on predominantly Christian communities. Several chiefdoms in Southern Kaduna, including Kauru, Kagarko, Kajuru, and Lere, were converted into emirates, a title traditionally associated with Muslim Hausa and Fulani leadership. This move was perceived as an imposition on predominantly Christian communities, altering their traditional governance structures without their consent.

6. The murder of paramount rulers, such as Agom Adara Dr. Raphael Maiwada Galadima in October 2018, raised suspicions about the state’s involvement in undermining indigenous leadership. His death occurred after he reportedly declined a request from the governor for grazing lands exclusively for Fulani herders

7. Many Southern Kaduna groups have accused El-Rufai of aiding and abetting what they described as “genocide” in Southern Kaduna, especially after he admitted to using state funds to make payments to terrorists as incentives not to carry out killings—which however escalated the killings after the admittance of such payment

8. The Kachia Grazing Reserve, established in 1967 to settle nomadic pastoralists, was expanded from 33,400 hectares to 77,000 hectares during El-Rufai’s tenure. This expansion occurred without the consent of the indigenous communities which was expanded to include their territories, leading to concerns over land rights and the displacement of local farmers. Studies have shown that the reserve is home to approximately 10,000 Fulani pastoralists and their 40,000 cattle, with some immigrants settling in the area. He was also involved inboindary adjustments that happened from Ikulu Chiefdom in Zangon Kataf Local Government Area (LGA) to Adara Chiefdom in Kachia LGA, as an effort to increase the Hausa and Fulani Muslim populations in Kachia and Adara, thereby altering the demographic and political landscape of the region

9. Elrufai embarked on retrenchment of no fewer than 21,000 teachers, thousands more in the civil service, pointing out that most of these people that were sacked, and others forced to go on voluntary retirement are yet to be paid their entitlements almost 6 years after they were forced out.

He also sacked of 4,000 local government workers across the state mostly from Southern Kaduna

Some people act as though General Musa said anything that El-Rufai himself has not boasted about with his own mouth and for which video, audio, and textual evidence does not abound.

Is it his boast about paying bandits to mollify them? Or his forceful balkanization of Southern Kaduna chiefdoms whose leaders opposed him and his bigoted and biased policies?

Is it the hounding and extra-judicial imprisonment of Southern Kaduna leaders?

Is it his deliberate stoking of sectarian and religious strife by boasting of a religious conquest and subjugation?
Is it his boasts in several interviews about massacring Shia Muslims?

Is it his blaming of the people of Southern Kaduna people as they were being massacred by bandits instead of working to help end the carnage?

All of these things are documented.
If you don’t like the messenger in the person of Gen. Musa because he’s from Southern Kaduna and is in the APC and in bed with the government, fine.

But why not take seriously the words of Gen. Ali Keffi, a Muslim Hausa-Fulani settler from Nasarawa, who has even gone further than Gen. Musa to accuse El-Rufai of co-opting elements of the military into his genocidal onslaught against the people of Southern Kaduna?

Or better yet, why not go back to the words and boasts of the erstwhile brutal dictator himself?

El-Rufai’s own words are the archive of his atrocities as governor of Kaduna State, the most compelling indictment of his catastrophic and divisive governorship.

Just like his own words of boasting about wiretapping the NSA got him into his current travails.

Take out time and listen to Professor Chidi Odinkalu's video of 2019 where he challenged El-Rufai on the killings of the kajuru people in Southern Kaduna. We will not allow you people white wash this evil Man called El-Rufai, he was a terrible Governor and he hated Southern Kaduna people.
