We asked legend Gareth McAuley his prediction ahead of the Black Country Derby this Sunday 👀

Here’s what he had to say! 🔥 #wba

[ben @ben_phillips01]

@CJHall83 That’s the best performance in years for me

[ben @ben_phillips01]

@J_Phillips1994 @CJHall83 It is to us though - we’ve signed 2 new midfielders for that fee have we not? Felix and this French kid both cost that much.

[ben @ben_phillips01]

@CJHall83 @J_Phillips1994 We can’t control the timing though. If no bids came in before now we can’t force a sale. Agree it’s unfortunate timing but it’s just one of those things

[ben @ben_phillips01]

@J_Phillips1994 @CJHall83 Understand, but… we’ve a history of keeping onto players on the decline/running contracts down and not getting fees for them. This is the model now, we can’t afford to miss out on ~2m. Would you have wanted us to offer another contract to a 31 year old who is losing their legs?

[Sarah Coombes for West Bromwich @SarahCoombesWB]

Unbelievable from the @EFL. How is it fair to retrospectively change the rules to penalise @WBA for supporting the heroic work of the @WBAFoundation. Completely ridiculous.

It's for charity, guys. A bad, bad look EFL #wba

[Henry Winter @henrywinter]

So a club can sell its hotel to itself, sell its women’s team to itself, but West Brom are punished, they believe, for legitimate “in-kind” donations to the Albion Foundation, its charity partner that saves lives. Albion also believe the alleged PSR breach is “less than £2m”

[Henry Winter @henrywinter]

…Chris Wood, Sam Field, Tom Fellows, Dara O’Shea also benefited from the hard work of coaches at West Brom’s academy. The list goes on. Such expert development work deserves proper appreciation and reward. Column #WBA 2/2

@rickyleegriffi Both are absolute cack

[Second Tier podcast @secondtierpod]

Can we talk about how good Jason Koumas was? 🌟

[Maybedoc @MaybedocI]

As I said earlier in the window, theres a lot of issues to fix and its not a 1 window job. Rushing to sign players players in the hopes of a quick promotion (and failing many a time) is one reason why we're in this mess.
If the right players aren't available then wait.
#wba

[ben @ben_phillips01]

@BradTalksBall 2 scenarios - championship is his level and saints sell him on for a similar fee, we get 2m more and you’d say that 12m for a championship level winger is good value.

Or he kicks on and is sold for 20+ then we end up with the 15m+ most wanted.

We can’t have expected much more

[Maybedoc @MaybedocI]

Fellows has had 1 good season and doesn’t do what most richer clubs want their wingers to do which is cut in and shoot.

Hence why there’s been barely anyone interested.
Think about it, if you thought 10mill was a bargain, wouldn’t lots of teams be lining up? #wba

[ben @ben_phillips01]

@baggiedave70 @EyaWeGew @Tgarratt10 Let’s get real. Hutchinson scored in the final for the England U-21s to win the tournament. Fellows was injury back up and barely got a minute. Fellows is a solid championship player but very one dimensional. The fee might be slightly lower than hoped for but it’s not miles off

[ben @ben_phillips01]

@manelferriol96 @WBAJack12 He’s never been anywhere close to being a prem player I’m sorry to burst your bubble. The guy is absolute cack

[ben @ben_phillips01]

@LethalSpaghett2 Hahahahahahahaha

[ben @ben_phillips01]

@JamieTheoMMA Actually hilarious. He has one move only. Step over and cross, which will be found out against better full backs in the prem. offers absolutely nothing else. Take 12 mil for him today. And that would be a great deal

They brought Zelenskyy, a man that’s led Ukraine through invasion with unparalleled honour, to the White House to humiliate and mug him in a despicable premeditated display. Zelenskyy should’ve spat in their fucking faces and walked out. Trump is a Putin shill cunt. Simple.
