Yellowknife's (and also #NWT's) first fast charger for electric vehicles is open for business -- the first of several fast-chargers to be installed in hydro communities and allowing electric vehicles to travel to Alberta https://t.co/D1T7rz65fA
Thanks to @GNWT_INF funding, the Arctic Energy Alliance is expanding its rebates on electric vehicles to include snowmobiles, ATVs, bikes and boats - and make good use of the near year-round excess hydro on NWT's two hydro grids #ElectricVehicles https://t.co/TWSuLL3Kvl
Interested in learning how solid #biomass can advance decarbonization efforts while reducing #energy costs in the North? #NWT Biomass Week is a (free) virtual event organized by the Arctic Energy Alliance from Jan. 30 to Feb. 3, 2023. More info: https://t.co/wttLwYU253
@GNWT_INF new Energy Action Plan ambitions to accelerate Electric Vehicles adoption and charging infrastructure deployment in the #NWT -- and this includes exploring rebates for electric snowmobiles and e-bikes https://t.co/76bNDQlfWo
The NWT needs to adopt actions to address the effects of climate change, and getting there means understanding how residents and communities are experiencing the North’s changing climate today. Fill this survey to help build climate resilience in the NWT: https://t.co/7WFYZiE3bV
@IndigClnEnergy is accepting applications for the 2023 cohort of the 20/20 Catalysts Program until Nov 30. It would be great to have more Catalysts based out of the #NWT and help accelerate #Indigenous#CleanEnergy projects here! https://t.co/XFiiWPYM0W
We look forward to seeing more fast #EV chargers being developed in the #NWT -- and transform how Northerners move around, at least in the hydro zone #energy#climate#ElectricVehicles CC: @GNWT_INF https://t.co/EXuJI3hJLW
@JackVanCamp That's a great question. Essentially, no -- curtailed hydropower is not represented on the Sankey, and energy loss in the power sector corresponds to efficiency loss from diesel generators as well as transmission and distribution losses.
This #Sankey diagram shows how energy flows through NWT energy system to #heat and #power buildings, propel vehicles, fuel industry. It illustrates the scale & nature of the issues we face when it comes to developing local, clean #energy in the NWT. More: https://t.co/jJDInB7oyk
This chart showcases the many initiatives, programs, and issues @GNWT_INF and its partners advanced in 2021-2022 to decrease NWT #emissions, ensure secure #energy systems, and stabilize energy costs for #Northerners. Learn more in our annual report: https://t.co/jJDInB7oyk
The #GNWT is providing $300,000 to support @NorthlandUtil with installing two electric vehicle (EV) fast-charger stations in Yellowknife. This project will not only reduce GHG emissions but make EV adoption more viable in the NWT. https://t.co/uyte1mh1Tp
Yellowknife-based Air Tindi will partner with AeroTEC and magniX in a NASA program exploring the #electrification of #aviation 👏https://t.co/GJxeFCZ0ip
Nights are getting shorter and brighter in #Yzf, making it increasingly difficult to see the #northernlights. Our live broadcasts will end on May 1. Enjoy the last few nights of the season!
