Brandel Chamblee with very, very high praise for Aronimink.
“It was the most, in my view, the most thorough test of golf—that wasn’t overly long—that I’ve seen in the game of golf.”
A huge congratulations to Aronimink Golf Club on a Successful PGA Championship!⛳️
Shoutout to John, Dave, Joe, Rob, Collin, Burke, Max, Nick and the Aronimink grounds staff as well as volunteers for a great tournament.

Lucky enough to run into Aronimink’s director of Golf John Gosselin yesterday. He’s been here for 20 years so was an absolute mine of information. The basis of these greens have remained the same for 100 years. Every now and again they will cut a new hole location and find an old horse shoe. The pans (like a plough) they used behind the horses on the greens were much narrower than the machinery of today. That’s a reason why the slopes on these greens are so much more intricate. More fun to watch but more difficult to putt.

Mother nature is undefeated. Bandon Dunes Managing Director, Ken Nice discusses some of the challenges facing the team on the Oregon coast and the decision to allow the dominant plant to run its course. SN production presented by the @USGAGrnSection.
"Contrary to many comments on social media, this practice is not a flex by Oakmont Country Club or the USGA."

Gray Leaf Spot in upstate NY…in mid-June. 🤯🤯
Stay vigilant out there. This is by far the earliest I’ve seen GLS this far north. Protect that tall fescue and perennial ryegrass.
Oakmont CC grounds superintendent Mike McCormick received the E.J. Marshall Platter at the conclusion of the 125th U.S. Open. ⛳️
The E.J. Marshall Platter is presented to superintendents who demonstrate outstanding course preparation and collaboration with the @USGA for national championships.

Wow. That was one of the most exciting Sunday afternoons at a U.S. Open I’ve ever seen.
Congrats to JJ Spaun for winning his first major on the strength of one of the most resilient back nine bounce backs in golf history. After a front nine 40 with bad shots and bad breaks erased his lead and took him from -3 to +2, he played the back nine at one of the hardest, wettest, most maddening golf courses you’ll ever see, capped by a 65 foot bomb on 18. Incredible final round.
Congrats also to Oakmont superintendent Michael McCormick, the grounds staff at Oakmont and all of the volunteers who somehow managed to keep the golf course playable this weekend despite a ton of rain.
And finally, congrats to the members and staff at Oakmont for hosting the club 10th Open. No matter the weather, no matter the scores, Oakmont will always be the quintessential U.S. Open golf course.
Rain won't stop this crew!
Oakmont grounds superintendent Michael McCormick and his remarkable team were recognized with the E.J. Marshall Platter for their work in getting the golf course prepared to test the greatest players in the world.
Congratulations to Michael McCormick on earning the E.J. Marshall Platter for outstanding partnership preparing Oakmont for a fantastic @usopengolf in spite of some tough weather. A well-deserved honor for Mike, his staff, and the volunteers!
While we wait for 2025 golf to return, you should check out our U.S. Open preview video if you missed it.
