I have two tickets for @CountingCrows at Manchester Apollo on Friday for sale on @Twickets which are now 20% off. Gutted I can't go - hope they go to a fan #countingcrows https://t.co/AmXcyOLe2Y
@SussexTottenham@nicholaslines Never building a team that could win doesn’t really fit with all those “how did we not win anything with this team?” Posts I see. Who’s wrong?
@SussexTottenham He does much wrong, Levy, but getting Kane back to his home ground, with a top European side, for a preseason friendly that he charges relative peanuts for us not one of those occasions
@SussexTottenham It’s an absolute bargain. It’s one of the only chances I’ll get to take my kids as the stadium, with its much bigger capacity than the old, is sold out every game. And loads of ex players who move on, many having given less than 10 years service, come back for friendlies
Once upon a time people stayed in the village or town they were born in. The horse & cart came, people became more mobile & moved to the next town. Then with railways it was moving counties, to the city for work. Then with passenger ships & planes it was countries. That’s all
@WoodyFuts@fullback03 And yes, brilliant opponents. The best. But so much better than him that in almost any modern era he wouldn’t be the best player of his generation. He’s top 20 or 15 ever in his sport. We have others who are top, top 3 top 5 in theirs.
@WoodyFuts@fullback03 They do of course, but there isn’t an equivalent so I left it out. Faldo is the 2nd all time points winner in the Ryder cup. My point is Murray was brilliant. But best ever Brit? I’m not sure he’s top 5
@greay10@WoodyFuts@fullback03 He has. Brilliant performance. But all top sportsmen have opponents. Not like Faldo got 97 weeks at the top against no one, Ballesteros, Norman, Watson all all time greats.
@WoodyFuts@greay10@fullback03 He’s done brilliantly. He’s our best tennis player. It’s not that I don’t rate tennis, and Murray has been up against the best ever, but he’s top 20 in the open era probably If he’d been up against Sampras, Borg, McEnroe, Lendl, Becker, Agassi, Conners, they’d have beaten him too
@8Cherrington403@fullback03 “One of Britain’s greatest…” “Britain’s greatest tennis player”. Either totally correct, both still huge accolades. Claire could have said either of those.
@BBCSport Love him but no. Compare him even to Sir Nick Faldo. Faldo world no.1 for 97 weeks and 6 major titles. Murray no.1 41 weeks and 3 majors. Ryder Cup vs Olympics. Murray is probably a top 20 open era tennis player. He’s great, but not our greatest.
