Yesterday I built my first #RShiny app! For any R users out there looking to deploy their functions for wider use I would highly recommend the #RStudio shiny tutorial and cheat sheets to get started.

@DrSianAllen Nice experiment @DrSianAllen ! The Garmin body battery seems similar (derived from HRV?). I try not to look in the AM -- to avoid being told how rested I am -- but equally I realise sometimes the body needs to do things while I sleep!
Diff recovery demands -> diff sleep?
Talent + discipline + time = ...
I've watched my brother put in the hours. So awesome to see what he can do now.
Prepare, practice, deliver, reflect

Second line hit me bigtime re fitness gains and wellbeing habits...
Esp in the beginning, I try to stay disciplined to remain steady through motivation peaks + troughs that come with a new habit or goal.
After a while, motivation stems from discipline and they both grow
To crank up the thinking machine, I'm digging through old Brain Food newsletters from @farnamstreet
"The biggest generator of long term results is learning to do things when you don't feel like doing them.
Discipline is more reliable than motivation."

I wore an Oura ring & a Whoop band on the same hand/wrist for ~12 months.
Here's everything I found... ๐งต
TLDR:
- Whoop isn't accurate enough to be useful. I took it off.
- Oura is better. I'm still wearing it.
- Beware readiness/recovery scores - raw data are more insightful.

To visualise and remember some lessons from my recent half marathon training, I whipped up these animations.
(These may be second-nature in sport but have wider applications elsewhere)
Thanks to my advisors and supporters. Fun to try something new and learn.
I'm interested in any thoughts you have especially on the animations - data vis can always be better!

For an interested follower of tech capability, great to see action in this area.
We need to develop safety controls ALONGSIDE computing/AI capability.
We need AI developers and AI safety researchers to be on the same side.

@wspr Nice, so what you really mean is 'ban cryptomining'.
Good to clarify that there are other potential uses for blockchain beyond currency... anyway, I'll stop pestering you now!
@wspr Other cryptocurrencies? 'Ban blockchain' hampers more than just BTC
In my view, such a frontier will cost energy. But it has huge advantages as a monetary system. It's helpful to avoid the good/evil dichotomy
If we had greener energy sources, would you still call for a ban?
Excited to share practical tools for being an applied performance analyst in high performance environments...
