@willadams These days computers are fast enough that you don't really need to strip comments (i.e. isolate them from the code) for efficiency, but combining and rearranging source in larger packages is a necessary feature once a package becomes beyond a certain size
@willadams Sorry I don't check here too often these days since Twitter turned to X :) I used gmdoc for a while with some of my smaller packages but ultimately went back to doc/docstrip for its flexibility (even if the syntax is a bit verbose)
you: is there anything more subjective than "ugly fabric?"
me: following from first principles, here are the sociological, cultural, and historical reasons why your sport coat fabric is considered bad taste
I taught myself the lost art of cable lacing from a NASA document to make a pretty box! I designed and 3D printed a custom socket to tighten banana plugs, and a nesting comb system to perfect the layout. Learned a lot!
Ok this is so cool. I was reading a paper which included a table. I wanted to reproduce that table in my LaTeX document. So I took a screen shot of it, pasted it into ChatGPT, and asked ChatGPT to give me the LaTeX code for it. And it did.

I’d always wanted to see one of these in real life: an incredible Chinese ‘banquet’ composed of natural stones that resemble food! I had seen the occasional photograph of similar banquets, but this was better than any of them. What a feast!
@olibradley@TomChivers@brianklaas I think it’s this way in Australia too, at least very common (my bathroom has not a single power outlet nor light switch)
@cmirza@gak_pdx I have a Mac Studio at work and it is fantastic. Very tempted by a Mac mini for home. The option to pair them with any screen(s) you like is worth the lack of the all-in-one option IMO
@LoneRangifer It looks to me that the Dick Smith website is just the Kogan website with different branding… all the same stuff at all the same prices
Anyway, I agree!!
