Painful to get up early for gym this AM. Reminding myself that fitness is a journey, not a destination. About feeling strong & healthy in our mind & body, and not about fitting into a certain size or reaching a certain weight.
All the boys who put themselves forward to take a pen we are proud of you - takes a form of bravery to step up in such pressurised situations. @BukayoSaka87@Sanchooo10@MarcusRashford we salute you boys
It's not about impressive workouts.
It's about stacking week after week, month after month, of good solid hard work. Give me months on end of solid consistent work over some lights out workouts, any day.
Running helps create two skills that are increasingly rare:
1. When running by yourself, it helps create an ability to be alone inside of your head for a long time.
2. When running with others, you learn to fill time with conversation instead of defaulting to your phone.
I'm calling on decision makers at every level to support the return of @parkrunUK in England. We should be proud of how @parkrunUK has helped make the world healthier & happier. It is now time to ensure it has a future. We must act to save this great health & wellbeing charity.
This plea is from @DavidDavisMP: “Please reach out to your local government political representatives & chief executives to request that they urgently support the return of parkrun on 5 June”.
Really is a worrying situation. Let’s hope more @parkrunUK events get the go ahead!
"People often say that if exercise was a pill it would be the greatest drug ever invented. For the past 17 years parkrun has acted as a free dispensary." My column on the potential farce of parkrun not coming back this summer - and its myriad benefits https://t.co/k9ibAqhL63
